    2009-10 Calder Trophy Predictions

Just wondering who you guys think will get it. There are probably other threads up like this, but oh well

Duchene is currently leading rookies with 49 points, Tavares second with 43, and Myers and Bergfors tied in third with 40.

    Looking for your guys opinions

    Matt Duchene?
    John Tavares?
    Tyler Myers?
    Niclas Bergfors?
    Antti Niemi?
    Jimmy Howard?
Or other. -----> Can Tuukka Rask get it? Is he a rookie?

Its going to be a close one! I love it!!!

My vote is for Tyler Myers. That said, I think Duchene will end up winning it.

I will go with Jimmy Howard as he put up close numbers to what Mason did last year and won it (besides shutouts). Of course think Matt D. will get it.

Tyler Myers is a beast, but I think he'll finish 3rd, behind Duchene and Tavares.

The NHL is all about hype, and the Calder voters are a bunch of hockey writers, many of whom don't pay attention outside of their own market. Tavares has name recognition, so that, paired with the fact that he is second in rookie scoring will get him a top 3 finish. I'm not saying he should be there, but I think he will be anyways.
