What if things were different
I know this is a bit random. But I also wondered what would have happened if Dan Blackburn did not have that career ending injury. The guy had a lot of potential back in the day. Do you think he would be a starter in the NHL if things did not go the way they did for him?

Honestly if he were still around, I think Lundqvist would have been traded. Blackburn was a great young goalie cut short by injuries.

Better than Lundqvist you think?

Not sure if you can say that but when you consider the fact that they had him and they drafted Montoya 6th overall, they must have thought they were set in goal, making Lundqvist expendable.

Oh for sure, I think they had their hopes set on Montoya thought. Wonder what went wrong with him.

Not sure really. I watched the kid from his WJC/Michigan days and LOVED him but when NY drafted him and when he went in to the AHL, I stopped watching him. I really wish he would one day be a starter but that won't happen sadly
