    ITG card replacement

hey guys, just looking for some advice
i recently pulled a phillipe paradis subway series number/auto gold (1/1) and it has some fraying around the number (the cardboard)...ive attached a scan, its on the left of the number...i recently emailed them and they send to send it in and they would gladly replace it.
now my dilemma is, do i send in this 1/1 and potentially get something not as nice? they said they don't replace with lesser cards, that i would get some of equal/more value...but this is my first ever 1/1, let alone first ever 1/1 ive pulled on my own...whats your experience with replacements from ITG? if i ask for a specific player will i get that player? (i know its unlikely) would i get another SS number/auto gold, just of another player?
ive never sent in a card to be replaced so just looking for others experiences...thanks in advance!

It doesn't sound huge issue on the left of the memorabilia window. Maybe in real this imperfection looks bigger. If you prefer to have a flawless card, I would send it; we cannot know the overstock they have, but I have rarely seen a 1-color patch for a ITG 1/1 card. And what if you get a new card with a perfect memorabilia window, but the replacement card has a near mint corner? It is something to consider.

Unless something changes, I think ITG actually will destroy this card after taking out the swatch and then make you a new card.

I agree as the imperfection to me is very minor. Best of luck on whatever you do.

hey guys thanks for the input!
i agree, its a minor imperfection, which is why im debating sending it in or not...since it is a 1/1 id like it to be as close to perfect as possible...if it was a /100 card i wouldnt care as much...i just figure what if i go to sell/trade it in the future, and that imperfection decreases value? either way, im completely 50/50 about sending it, hence the thread generating discussion

I think if you are planning to move it, you should gauge interest, and decide if you are willing to get less for your replacement than you have been offerred for what you have in hand.
Based on the scan, I have to say I believe the damage is very minimal, although in person it could obviously be worse than it looks.

to clarify, the damage does look minimal in the scan...but in person it looks bad enough to warrant this thread :)

Either way you go i dont think you can lose. If you send it in i have confidence that Dr. Price and his staff will treat you very well. If you keep it it is a 1/1 so the value wont decrease much if at all. If the card is damaged but its the only one a player collector wont care too much.

    IMO I wouldn't even bother, doesn't kill the value b/c it's a 1/1.

I suspect ITG will actually get you a better card or as mentioned make the same one you have......customer service is pretty good over there.
