    Unbelievable... being a Habs fan, I like Gorges, but under no circumstances is a card of his with a print run of 199 even if it's The Cup worth that much.

    A big premium is placed on patches to the point of insanity sometimes. I mean, are people really getting that crazy over "all the pretty colours"?!

    i have a steve ebrnier from that same year that looks really close to that, it doesnt have any of the aqua but its like 8 breaks, i had to trade 200 in bv of cards to get it but it was definitly worth it :)

    I'll buck the trend amongst comments to say I'm not surprised. I know of at least 2 set collectors chasing the 05/06 Cup RC's and they're looking for nothing but the best of the best for patches. So get them bidding against each other (not to mention others such as Josh George collectors) and prices can go up. I know those set collectors continue to upgrade their set so they troll ebay looking for better patched cards. The results are amazing, IMO, because their sets definitely show off the "wow factor" when you see all those RC's together with their incredible patches.
