Well, I guess it depends on where you work. Don't celebrate too loudly next to anyone in manufacturing.

I'm onboard though - card purchasing is getting a whole lot cheaper. Especailly if we see it push toward $1.10 (the peak a couple of years ago).

The high dollar is a great thing since I do a lot more importing than exporting.

On the flipside of this joyous news, the NS government has announced that it's jacking up the HST by 2 points to 15%. Just the NDP being the NDP.

NS government following Quebec's QST... 2% hike sigh. Guess we'll buy on ebay more often where they don't apply taxes yet and especially when CAD hits parity or above :)

seeing brooks and dunn's farewell tour there in july sitting 6th row. as for taxes ontario is implementing an hst harmonized sales tax so instead of a gst and pst, there is just going to be hst but thats bad as things we normally arent fully taxed on we will now be paying 13% on. things like food, clothes, gas (home and car) rates, needless to say nobody in ontario was in favour of it by our smart premier decided its best for us anyways in the long run go liberals!!! not
