Modano's mother: 'Choice is with Dallas'

    By Richard Durrett

If Mike Modano's mother has her way, the face of the Dallas Stars' franchise will play again next year.

"I'm really hoping we squeeze another year out of him," Karen Modano said Thursday from her home in Westland, Mich. "I've told him that a thousand times. What are you going to do? You're going to be so bored? All you have is hockey? He said he'd play golf, but you can only play golf so much."

ouch. What bad luck. Cruise on the same day that Modano invites them to watch. Hopefully his parents can come to a game next season, if he doesnt retire.
He could always travel during retirment.

Just got home from the Game! It was ABSOLUTELY Amazing!!! Center Ice Row M behind the Stars Bench. What a way to go out if he does hang'em up! 2 goals and a assist!

It was VERY cool.....I'll post pics up once the wifey gets them on the computer!

Mike Modano has had an amazing career! I think he is making the right decision to retire though even though he could still play.

i think it's a coin toss for mo. He definitely still have enough to go another year. He doesn't have anything to prove, so I think he will come back for one more. Stars have a legit chance to compete for the playoffs next year.

Was a Amazing game indeed...one I will not forget and probably one of the best sports games I will ever see. Here is a link to the performance he put on and last night. I was in section 103 at the glass behind turco in the third.

The Video may give you goosebumps but, it still comes knowwhere near the experience you would have unless you where there. I'l be honest I got abit teary eyed myself. I went to the first stars game when they came to Dallas when I was a kid and since then I always thought it was fun to go see Mo play.

I've gotten to go to one Dallas Stars game, and Modano got a hat trick. It was pretty cool. I remember staying up until around 1 in the morning and watching them win the Stanley Cup.
