    Calder no easy choice

Now that it's over and Tavares sneaks to only 2 points back of Duchene who everyone has been praising (55-53). Tavares is the Islanders top scorer, Duchene finishes third on Avs scoring, and which team would you rather be on for production for the year. I wouldnt say one had a more dominating year then the other, so here is my prediction ..... their votes start to offset by those looking at the forwards, and Myers takes home the trophy.

I think it may even be a guy you did not mention in Jimmy Howard.

Yup. Jimmy Howard has led the Redwings team to the playoffs this season.

Howard would still be fine by me. I just dont think Duchene has done anything more exciting then Tavares to deserve the honors.

Why not mention of Howard with his stats:

    62 2 2 3677 139 3 3 2.27 36 15 10 1681 0.920

Only played 62 game but won 36. I think that better than mason stats all across the board besides shutouts when he won rookie of the year. Wins, g.a.a., save percentage, etc. Amazing how he not even mentioned.

I think Matt D gets it but that my thoughts.

I think Myers should get it...

As far as im concerned Tavares would be at least 4th on my list after Myers, Duchene, and Howard. Tavares last I checked was a -13. Which is 15 lower than Duchene, and 26 lower than Myers in terms of /-. I might be able to ignore that if he led in goals, points or any other catagory for that matter...If Tavares wins it, I will not be very happy and will lose all respect for NHL awards

Tavares doesn't even deserve to be one of the 3 mentioned IMO.

    Duchene, Myers, Howard

Who you give it to out of those 3, I don't know

Myers and Howard have had the biggest impacts on their teams. Howard gave the Wings goaltending, and kept them in contention through injuries

Myers significantly helped Buffalo's D-line, when quite frankly, it was pathetic.

Duchene helped with the other youngsters of Colorado to get them from 3rd worst team in the NHL, to the playoffs.

Where are the Islanders? Oh yeah, they did horrible just like last year.

Gotta look at the impact they had on their teams, not just stats

in a perfect world, that would be a factor, but generally isn't when it comes to the voters. Although Myers had a great middle of the season, he didn't do all that much in the waning weeks of it. Myers won't be winning any Calder Trophy.

Jimmy Howard was so very solid, and when it comes to goaltenders, as they go, so do their teams. Howard is the front runner in my opinion, (which, as all of everyone elses... means diddly squat anyway)

Tavares came on strong late, but did have a slump, those slumps have other factors besides just a slump, teams playing him tougher, matchups...whatever.

Duchene was effective most of the season, I think it boils down to him and Howard...whoever wins it...deserves it.
