Bad time for UD redemption cards ?
with UD losing licence after license...
lost NBA
lost NFL
lost Pokemon
(half)lost NHL
to me its clear, that they will have to cut costs.
i don't see UD deliver all of the 'meant to be autographed' redemption cards.
i think NOW is the worst time to pull a redemption for a autographed card of a star player.
what do you think ?

it's always bad to pull a redemption card period. the loss of other sport licenses only matters if you think UD is going under. if anything, now that UD doesn't have the other sports to focus on and only hockey, they should have more time to follow up with their outstanding redemptions. unfortunately, UD has also cut alot of staff so who knows how many people they have available to do what now.
it's also important to remember most redemptions aren't because UD is lazy but more because the athletes aren't returning the cards on time. for some multi player auto'ed cards that's understandable though.

Absolutely untrue.
I waited for almost two years for an Exquisite dual auto logoman from 07-08 Exquisite Basketball with the dreaded "waiting for athletes to sign". I finally called and asked them to please send the card WITHOUT the autos as I would still like the logoman patch card as it was of my two favourite Knicks. Well guess what ?......no can do because the card was never made. So I ask then what have I been waiting two years for? Dead silence followed by some rubbish answer. UD has committed the biggest fraud in the history of frauds and we are still falling for it.

There has been a lot of talk about this recently, and concern.
To be honest, I think "now" would have been a few weeks ago.
At this point its NOW
I've never really been a fan of redemptions at all. Especially when you see that its taking them 2+ years to fill sometimes (if at all) or even releasing new redemptions for players who still haven't filled last year's autographs.
Hope you get your redemption, but if nothing else, I hope that you get something.
Cheers,
reoddai

Sadly this is a story I have heard from others. Same thing happened with Paul's (bidds55) Kopitar HP Shield 1/1. Somehow they had stickers for all his auto rookies but not one last card?
"Supposedly" the card was too damaged to send out though there was a pretty solid rumor the card was in the desk of an UD employee and it may have just walked off on it's own...............
Then there is the current story of another good friend of mine waiting on some fairly substantial cards of his favorite player and UD can't give him a straight answer if the cards were produced, where they are, etc, etc............while the same cards of other players have entered the marketplace with some of those players not on the original checklist.
Brutal.

I finally agreed to replacements. Been waiting 3 months and have frankly come to terms with the fact that I will receive nothing and have simply wasted my money.
Here's the real kicker to the story though. I asked UD how they were going to value the replacements. I reasoned that seeing as it was a 1/1 surely the value of the replacement cards should be equal in value to the actual price I paid which can be verified on ebay although I don't know how long they keep their historical records for. I paid a king's ransom for this card.
So the con man (I refuse to call him "customer service") tells me that they will use the value stated in Beckett !!!! At this point I politely thanked him whilst giving him the finger.

It really is a nightmare dealing with them! I've heard other horror stories like this as well. They should be sued by all collectors who have been ripped off in a class action lawsuit against the company.

and by NFLPA for failing to pay athletes, and by Topps for infringing on topps exclusivity deal with MLB, and by all the lil children who bought fake YUGIOH cards and for everyone who overpaid for a Fedorov YG RC.........
maybe we can garnish Mcwilliam's jet?
