Round 2: Detroit/SJ: Who you got?

Detroit finished off the Coyotes with a 6-1 game 7 victory. They now face the top seeded San Jose Sharks, who beat Colorado in 6. Detroit is 3-0-1 against SJ. Who ya got?

I got Wings in 5. Wings have always played well against SJ, and the match-up is in the Wings favor. Wings beat the Sharks with 8 people out of their line-up. Plus, it is the Sharks. I think they key is will Nabby be shaky?

This gonna be a TOUGH series, I can see it going 7 or to either team, but my gut tells me Sharks in 6.

I think the Wings were too inconsistent against the Coyotes even though everything clicked in that game 7.

The Sharks I think played really good in their series against the Av's but Craig Anderson was hot the first 4 games before he eventually succumb to the pressure.

Barrie beat me to it, but I'm also calling Sharks in 6.

I don't trust rookie goalies in the playoffs.... even if they're up against team of choke artists. Detroit has looked old at many points this season.... and as Barrie pointed out - inconsistent against the Coyotes.

The Sharks needed a few games to get warmed up, but played very well, IMO, in the last couple of games vs Colorado. If Heatly / Thornton / Marleau get going (and I have to think they will eventually) they should be able to win this series.

I'll go with the Wings in six.

Detroit is experienced, well rested, and seemed to find their stride in the last game against Phoenix. Their big players have been playing big, and anyone who doubted that Nik Lidstrom isn't still one of the top d-men in the league I think was proven wrong with his two goal, three point effort last night.

The key for San Jose is the obvious: their big players NEED to play big. None of them have a history of doing so; and if they continue to live up to their reputations; I can't see the Sharks winning. This isn't a young, inexperienced team that they're playing this time. The Wings know how to win.

Should be a fun series to watch though.
