THEY SAID WHAT?????
"A couple years ago some of us only got to the second round and it ended," he added. "We have to realize the urgency in Game 1 and try to win one of those."
"We battled hard. There were a lot of things that happened in that series," captain Rob Blake said. "We were resilient. They battled us hard."
"I think we realized that nothing comes easy after last year. ... It's a good series to come off (of) after last year, but I think it's going to depend on what we do in the future -- the next series -- and still another one after that, so that's what's really important." -- C Joe Pavelski.
"There's a lot more work ahead of us," Dan Boyle said
“We just got the early jump—a couple quick goals bang bang,” Setoguchi said. “It’s a little bit of a buzz-killer for them. We wanted to jump early. We were ready to go.”
"There were times in the game that I thought they were strong on loose pucks. They beat us to open ice at certain points. Then there were times that we had that opportunity. I don't think the game was one-sided. I think it was almost a carbon copy of Game 1." -- Coach Todd McLellan.
---------------
“It was a good game and it’s going to be a good series,” Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. “We didn’t play poorly, they just shot it to the net and we made a couple of mistakes.”
"It is a great feeling to see the team respond the way we did in a Game 7 on the road. We played with a lot of confidence, even after the first period when (it was scoreless). We played with patience." -- Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom.
“They got a quick jump on us,” Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom(notes) said. “The first goal came on a power play and then we turned the puck over and they made a nice play from behind the net. They got the headstart. We battled back but could never catch up. We played a solid game.”
"They started really well. We weathered the storm and got playing good, and then I don't know how many minutes we were shorthanded in the third, (but) it got them right back in the game. And for the (second) time in the series we get scored on with only three guys on the ice. You're not going to win like that." -- Wings coach Mike Babcock.

As per usual, I'm going against the Wings just because I don't like them but also because I think San Jose is ready to get rid of the "choking tag". SJ in 6 :)
