shipping cards, is it really this hard?

ok, soo im sure this has been a topic on these fourms before, but id like to state my case.

lately, ive bought cards off ebay and off of hobbyinsder, and ive had 3 deals (and many in the past) where i get my cards with big creases by the jersey! and alot of it is bad protection in shipping. heres a list of things i hate!:

1 - when the card is not shipped in a good protection case like a top loader or plastic case. every time a person shipps a card with no top loader, it is allllways damaged.

2 - i know some people do this and it is better for cost, but, shipping in an envelope and not a bubble mailer. if you have good protection around the card, im ok with it (like in a team bag with card decoys, good protection). but when you just put the card in the envelope and ship it, noot cool :(.

3 - this last one is just kinda a pet peve of mine. its not bad to do, but do you really need to keep thoese 2 top loaders? ok, soo to the point. when someone ships multiple cards in team bags, where the two outside cards are in top loaders, and the inside cards are not. ugggh! i just got really good kobasew pc cards like this in the mail, and it turns out the outside card in the top loader, now is damaged. uggh, cant you put them all in protective top loaders? or even a big plastic case???? bv:40 quad jersey now has a big crease in it.

sorry i have to rant about these things, but i just hate this! my ideal way to ship cards would be 1. bubble mailer. 2. top loader or protective case. 3. (optional but prefered) team bag with protective card decoys.

id like to know if anyone has had issues like this before? and what you think is the best way to ship cards.

    thanks for reading everyone!!

Personally I haven't had any damaged cards but the one thing that annoys me is when people put a card in a toploader without a penny sleeve. I mean really? It's called a PENNY sleeve for a reason...they're only about a penny each!!!

My view on how things should be shipped is that it should definitely be in a bubble envelope but as long as it's in a toploader andd the top of the toploader is taped so the card won't fall out, I don't think extra precautions are necessary. Just my thoughts.

you should never ship a 40 dollar card without a toploader. No exuse on that one. I can see a bunch of really low end stuff that doesnt fit the standard size top loader but not a quad what a sin.

i totally agree with the penny sleeve! thats soo stupid they cant even use a penny sleeve! i usually ship like you just stated but also use team bags, and i havent had any problems. ive recieved cards just like that and no problem at all. so that is a good way to ship :)

yea i know! i paid 60 bux for some good kobasew pc items i needed, and only 4 out of the 11 cards came in top loaders! the quad im not exactly sure how it was damaged but im guessing somewhere during the shipping process it got bent the wrong way or too much presure against it.

surprisingly, the quad was in a top loader! buuut....

he had the thick jersey cards in between the top loaders, then in a team bag. but doing this makes the top loaders take alot of presure during shipping, and i believe thats why the quad got damaged because the inside cards made the ends of the top loader bend over the sides of the not toploaded cards. this would crease the out side cards over the inside cards.
now if he had all of them in top loaders/case, the top loaders wouldnt get bent over and everyone would be happy lol.

what does tick me off also is that he had my favorite pc card in between the top loaders, my chuck kobasew auto letter mark "S" numberd 12/50 (his jersey number). thank goodness it wasnt damaged at all! but, ™™™? now i gotta get a top loader/one touch case for it lol!

lol ugh, i had to rant about this. if your gonna ship without top loaders, let the buyer/trader know. more than likely, there going to expect protection on every card, like he/she should get.

I ship like this all the time, but I never herd a complaint before.

Its a weight issue. If you put all the cards in top loaders, then sometimes the weight pushes you into the next bracket for shipping. This can sometimes double or triple your cost.

If the cards are expensive though, always put the most expensive ones in the top loader, or just buckle down and put everything in top loaders, but if you;re dealing with inserts and base, its not always worth it.

I'm with you on this one, reoddai. I don't see what the harm is in putting a bunch of base/inserts in a thick toploader together. I usually put GU'd/Auto's/RC's in their own toploaders, unless they are commons that book less than $10, but it really is a waste of toploaders, cash for shipping, and time to put every single $.10 insert and base card in a toploader. I do put them in pennies before I put them in a thick toploader though.

ill agree with you guys here, inserts and base dont reallly need top loaders for each individual card. so i can see it being better to put them all in one and ship.

also with gu/autos/rcs, i also agree they all should get there own top loader. base/inserts i wouldnt care how it was shipped as long as they dont get damaged, but with cards that have a little more value to them, i expect a top loader or even a plastic 10 card case with all the gu/autos in it.

I'm gonna to tell future traders how to ship my cards. I'm tired of getting 5 cards shoved into one penny sleeve.
