I'll agree with a lot of this Andy. I agree that attacking other members (I have occasionally been guilty of this on some level I admit) and countries and such does need to stop. To a point though, attacking is a part of any sporting debate but as I said TO A POINT. Attacking a person's points I think is fine but when you attack the actual member is where a line needs to be drawn.
Normally I would agree that complaints about officiating shouldn't be made but come on Andy, I know how much you watch hockey and how well you know the game. You can't tell me that the officiating in many games/series so far this year has just been plain atrocious compared to an average year. I mean in past years I've seen maybe a few games that were what I would call poorly officiated throughout the entire playoffs but this year I've seen several games in almost every series that I saw horrible officiating. I mean I'm no fan of the Sharks but watching the game tonight, there were a couple really bad calls, the goaltender interference penalty on Heatley is the first that comes to mind. The fact of the matter is that officiating this year compared to seasons past is considerably worse on an NHL-wide scale. That's my 2 cents.

Actually I stopped watching the playoffs. There isn't a single team I remotely care about left. And in my LA/Van series, it was fine.

You're lucky then Andy, because that was probably the only series I didn't get to watch at least 1 game of lol. There were several bad calls in my Sabres/Bruins series but they went both ways, I mentioned the Sharks/Red Wings game already, I saw a couple bad calls in the Montreal/Pittsburgh game and I'm sure you know how much I hate both of those teams so for me to care to notice that is a lot lol and the list goes on. I've been much less interested in playoff hockey in general this year and seeing all these bad calls is a big part of it. I understand it's playoffs and they want to let the boys play but come on, a guy gets railed into the boards from behind (see hit on Kaleta) with no call and then you'll call goalie interference on Heatley who was CLEARLY pushed into Howard with no way of avoiding contact at all (even the announcers talked about it) ? That's just bad IMO. It's become quite the annoyance this year and I apologize for this mini-rant I just think it's getting a bit ridiculous.

really?? you're asking people to remember that hockey is just a game?? You say its just a game but you also have repeatedly said how much you hate players from different teams. You started a Sharks thread where the title had to be changed because it was inappropriate. All I'm saying is you have done the exact same thing you're saying needs to stop

Yes, please, stop it. I'm a Bruins fan, and I'm quite proud of my team, but you don't see me attacking the flyers fans. Its a game, we're supposed to be enjoying the playoffs together. Its all in good fun, but there's a difference between Ribbing a person, and downright insulting them.
IE: Ribbing:
" Flyers fans are so confident after their team got better as the game went, but they don't realize that Boston isn't playing to potiential yet, so the Flyers are about to get their arse handed to them"
Keep it to stuff like this, and we'll be all cool.

I think if you check the one Sabres/Bruins thread we had going, that was how the thread should be, friendly teasing with the other fans, and HAVING FUN.
No personal attacks, please, that's just plain stupid an immature.
About the officiating, I was complaining in general, not just for my own team, so I feel thats fine lol
If I was strictly PO'ed about the Sabres series then you can bring that up lol but the refs in the playoffs in multiple games/series have been pathetic.
Lets HAVE FUN guys, and quit taking it too far

I was the one who shut it down last night. I was going through it and decided not to edit it at that time (Sleep won out) I am all for attacking teams but not the personal attacks. Once name calling comes into play you are going against SCF rules.
I have read some threads with tonnes of trash talk and it is fun. There is no need to offend others. I am a Sens fan but can deal with the fact that they lost to the Pens. If a Pens fan wants to attack the Sens and say their team was better have at it but if they decide to attack me and my right to cheer for my team then there is a problem.
One word folks "Respect"
Please keep that in mind and just remember the guy (or gal) you are trashing could have your next PC whale.

Yeah most people in this thread are echoing my sentiment of keeping it at a game and not attacking people.
And yeah to those who care.... I won't be watching any more hockey this season unless it's juniors. Go hitmen baby! (but let's not make this a juniors thread. Thanks)
