2009 Topps Tribute Dual Relics /99 Complete Set Framed!

Finally got these framed. Because the cards are so reflective, its really hard to get a clean picture of them with a flash on and without a flash it was pretty dark but here's some pics, sorry for them not being so good. The pics don't do them justice though, they are beautiful in person! Pretty happy with how the frame turned out too!

    The set consist of:
    Akinori Iwamura
    Aramis Ramirez
    Bo Jackson
    Dwight Gooden
    Dustin Pedroia
    Darryl Strawberry
    Duke Snider
    David Wright
    Evan Longoria
    Gary Carter
    Jay Bruce
    Melky Cabrera
    Prince Fielder
    Rick Porcello
    David Wright
    Evan Longoria

That Looks Great... Good Job. I bet it was not cheap to have that framed like that, but it's nice to have something like that to display the collection. Did you use UV glass on the frame?

Yes, the glass is UV glass. As far as the price, the total after shipping was $81.50. I got it through a sports card framing website. I think it would've been more than this to get it done at a local arts and crafts store, but I didn't check into it. A member at another forum told me he had went both routes and said the trading card website was cheaper and looked better.

    framing

that does look great. quite a centerpiece for any collection. what i'm wondering is whether or not the framing idea would look as good with different cards ie vertical & horizontal, different manufacturers, even different thickness. my holy grail is all 45 justin verlander rc's that are listed in beckett. i have 37 of them now. how do think they would look. some of beauty of this piece is in the uniformity, don't you think?
    good luck with your collection,

Mike, I agree that some of the beauty is the uniformity of the piece. But you as a collector will see more beauty beyond that. As for having some cards horizontally and some vertically, I'm not sure if they would be able to do that or not. When I ordered mine they clarify whether you want it vertical or horizontal. If you are interested in that specific company you can ask here.

Wow. $81.50 is very reasonable. I had a Evander Holyfield auto litho, framed at a frame shop and I think I spent $200 + on it (I think with out UV Glass). I will have to bookmark that site, Nice Job again..

Mike: I think if you did yours through a company like Tyler used, that frames mainly sports cards and other sports related item's. I think it will turn out O.K. Depending on the number of vertical and horizontal cards, they might be able to arrange them into a nice design.

    Thanks,
    Tom

I am not a huge set collector, but holy smokes (as my 2 1/2 year old would say). That set looks unreal! A real beauty! I kind of can see why people would collect a set like this now.

And my OCD is good with it too with it being a nice number of cards that fit nicely into a configuration like that. Very very cool!

    display

tyler & tom thanks for the input. of course, the current project is still to collect the 8 cards that i need. no easy task when at least 2 of them are >$150. but just call me "don" on my quest. and tyler as far as your display goes the black & white mat with the black frame really accentuate the siver on the cards. that would be one disadvantage for my collection. we'll see.
    thanks again guys,
    mikez

Well, there are over 15 different mat colors to choose from on the site that I ordered from. Also, there are 2 different other style frames you can pick as well.
