question on Joe morgan
Does anybody know how to get Joe to sign the actual item you send him instead of an index card? I'm happy with the index card but don't understand why he won't sign anything you send him. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

He probably presigns multiple packs of the index cards, as hall of famers receive a ton of requests!

He probably gets a ton of requests for being not only a great HOFer but an anchor of one of the best teams of all time. I am not positive but I have a hunch the only reason he does the index cards c/o the HOF is because he does so much there with the Board. I was more then pleased with my index card.
Aaron, Mays, Aparicio, Palmer, Brett, Rice, Koufax, Kiner, Schmidt, Brock, Gibson, Robinson, McCovey, Yaz, Seaver, Jackson, Mazeroski, Smith, Murray, Eckersley, Sandberg, Yount, Gwynn, and Henderson are all Hall of Famers who are impossible or near impossible to get ANYTHING signed ttm. When I think about a guy's fee or stipulation of what they'll send or sign I always think that at least I can get something because so much of the HOF is closed off from the ttm community.

Your best bet would be to try a custom index card if you want something different than just a plain 3x5. You may get lucky but I don't think he will sign anything other than some kind of index card. I got this 4x6 CIC signed by Joe through the HOF about 3 months ago, so he does sign other things.

I also sent a blank 3x5 just in case he did not sign my custom. It may be worth a try.

Congrats!
It had been a long time since I had seen him sign anything, but an index card. He also is busy calling games still. He is a treasure of the game and will always have a special place in Reds fans hearts. The fact remains that an index card is much better than most HOF players are willing to sign for free. Could you ever imagine Bench or Seaver signing for free?

I could not have said it better myself. I was glad Joe signed my custom (I knew it was a long shot) but I would have been just as happy to receive the signed index card.

Sandberg isnt impossible and will sign TTM thru his foundation. I met both Sandberg and Morgan in person and its not even comparable to who is a nicer guy. Sandberg would sign mutiple items, take pictures with kids, and inscribe without even asking and Morgan would only sign a State Farm 8x10's and was a complete jerk. With that said I am glad to have gotten Morgan even though it was on an 8x10 State Farm photo.
