player development "staaled" out? really man? hahahahaha that made my day

but as a canes fan, i am super excited to have another staalsy to root for. I'll admit when the canes passed over him back in that draft i was pretty ticked off but i guess it all worked out for us in the end, and a lower draft pick used to boot. LETS GO HURRICANES!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO

no the canes should trade for marc and jordan and make a line of 4 instead of 5 and call it the staal line. the only bad thing is that they have to shower together. that would be weird.

Eh; this is a decent move by Carolina. Jared Staal is really likely to make a third line player at best. His development has (as was mentioned) stalled, and he wasn't all that great to begin with. If his last name wasn't Staal; he never would have been drafted in the second round.

Skating needs major work from what I could always tell. That's probably the biggest problem out of all of his skill set. I believe his goal scoring has even started regressing (from what I've heard).

That being said; every team needs third line checkers. Giving up a fifth round pick for one isn't really too bad of a deal.

Agree with Drifter2000. He's by far the worst of the 4 boys but he could still be a decent player.

we could still sign their dad for the 5th staal...heck he couldnt be much older than brind'amour and i agree that he needs alot of improvement but like i previously stated that eric may help with this...time will tell
