I've never been more ashamed of them. Not even when they lost 21 in a row in '03. To see them just standing around while Rondo performed feats of Olympic acrobatics around them, utterly listless...this is not a team worth supporting. So I'm not going to anymore. They obviously don't give a damn, so why should we?

That's what people said when they were going to play the Heat. Then again when they were playing the Cavs. Then again for this series. Definitely not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I wouldn't be so sure about that anymore...

Let's be real....no one said the Heat were gonna beat the Celtics in seriousness.

You missed the point - people have said that the Celtics are too old, they are done, etc, etc, etc, when in all reality, they look like the best team in the NBA at the best time. They handled the Heat quite easily. They fell down 2-1 to the Cavs, then handled them in the last 3 games. They have handled the Magic through 3 games fairly easily. The Cavs and Magic had the two best records in the regular season. The Celtics record in the regular season was the same as the Thunder, but in all reality, when healthy, as they clearly are now (and were questioned whether they would be ever), they are definitely a top-2 team in the league, and could arguably be the best team in the league.

Rashard Lewis Game 1 42:32 2-10 FGM-A 0-6 3PM-A 6 points +/- -6.
Rashard Lewis Game 2 41:03 2-6 FGM-A 1-3 3PM-A 5 points +/- -7.
Rashard Lewis Game 3 27:44 2-8 FGM-A 0-4 3PM-A 4 points +/- -16 (5PF).
That is horrible stats for 3 games by Rashard Lewis! He showed no passion or intensity whatsoever! Or is Kevin Garnett just that good of a defensive player?

Rashard is trying, he just isn't a guy who can create his own shots or drive and create. He's just not comfortable doing it. He's a spot shooter and occasional post (when the guy is smaller). And since SVG is sticking to his guns and refuse to look for other options, game 4 will be more of the same. I'm all for giving the bench much more burn, but SVG rushes back to these ineffective lineups at every opportunity. They dug themselves another hole tonight doing just what I mentioned in the first couple posts of this thread.

Actually, I think there were quite a few that were serious when they believed the Heat was going to beat the Celtics. A lot of people believed the Celtics were too old, too washed up, and Rasheed was a distraction/waste/useless.
I'm actually pretty surprised by how well the Celtics have done in the playoffs this year. I guess we can all stop with the retirement home jokes now because these guys are playing like they still at least got this one last good championship run in them.
Lakers v. Celtics should be a pretty good series though because I think L.A. will want to get their revenge for 07-08 and Boston's group still have something to prove as well.
