Some pick-ups over the weekend
Hey Guys, well, just got back from Charlotte, had a great time at the track! I finally got to a race early enough where I could park close, enjoy all of the track activities, enjoy all of the stuff outside of the track (loved the Toyota Owners Hospitality Tent, got to meet David Starr/Michael Waltrip) and then got to see some pretty good racing. The racing wasn't top notch as these guys still don't do too much side-by-side racing but I think the track surface is still too new there for that to happen. What got the biggest cheer of the night? Wasn't Kyle Busch crashing, it was Jimmy Johnson spinning... that's all I'll say about that.. lol
2nd time I've been to Charlotte when Gordon hit the wall all by himself (the other time was at the 2005 '500) So pretty disappointing there....
Speed ran about as good as I thought he would considering he started a car with no practice on it.. he pretty much kept up with the "quick pack" during the Showdown but perhaps with his primary he could have ran a few positions better...
Anyway... here are some pickups in my mail while I wasn't here..

Why did they choose such a dark picture for an auto card, and then have Kyle sign in dark ink? I mean seriously, the Petty's have some of the nicest signatures in the biz and...ugh.. lol

Don't be too jealous... it was just a meet n' greet that lasted all of about 10-15 minutes right before the Sponsifyer (sp?? lol) unveiling so no big deal but always cool to see drivers in person.

Oh, if you look at MW's twitter and he has the entry "Big announcement @ Toyota" I'm in that picture... towards the right outside the fence in a green shirt (you can only see my head and just a bit of green but I'm there... lol)

Very Nice Additions! I agree with you about the Petty auto, would have looked great signed with a silver sharpie. Congrats!

Want to know the truth? I had no idea it was a tux-suit until I had the card in hand... but the card would have been so much nicer if it had been signed in the gold that they used to # the stupid thing... lol

Thanks! Card was listed as "Dave Blaney Authentic Autograph". The picture in the search results looked like it was signed in Gold ink which usually means "short print/rare/etc". I clicked it and sure enough, it's a Gold for $5.00 so... here it is.. lol But from what I can tell it's one of the unnumbered golds which kinda sucks but on Beckett it is listed as a print of 50. I also have a Jeff Burton like this where it's a Gold but is unnumbered out of 50.
