International Shipping Guidance
So I put on all my auctions on ebay US only but someone from Germany won an auction last night. I tried to cancel but he refused so from what I understand ebay will not refund the fees even though it clearly states in 2 places I ship to US only.
The guy messaged me and said he would pay the shipping. My question is what is the cheapest way to ship it? I know I have options to choose from on ebay but need some guidance. Thanks!

Hi !
Usually it costs around 3$ to ship outside the US .. i pay from 2$ up to 6$ depending on who the seller is .. It doesnt cost much more to ship outside of the states.. Sometimes it costs less to ship to sweden then it costs to ship within the states.. Just go to the postoffice and get a quote.
USPS international priority or first class is pretty cheap and take like 4-5 days to get from the us to europe

If its a higher dollar card, I would send it registered at least. Would be about $15, so if he's willing to pay that, go for it.
If not, you can just send it at whatever is regular for international mail (first-class I think), with the customs form you fill out at the PO. Depending on weight it'll be about $3.

It's not much more expensive for regular shipping. It gets out of hand if you need tracking. If you don't get tracking, you are hung out to dry with PayPal. Most people overseas flip out when you charge $15, so you really can't win. It's why I don't like doing it.

I agree Velvet not worth it at all, he kinda has me stuck with it. I am afraid if I send it not registered then he will lie and say he didn't get it.

You should always sell anywhere, but mention stuff in your description like in the USA it is $2 for shipping, extra $2 for tracking and stuff for orders over $50. And than charge $3 for international with $15 for tracking. Than the buyer will see your charges.

I had that happen to me w/ someone from Canada. He hit the bin but my listing said U.S. only. I told Ebay about it and they sided with me. Guy was ™™™™™™, but he should have read the listing. But usually international bidders mail me before they bid.

I've had more problems with shipping within the US than I have shipping internationally (zero). It costs a bit more (maybe a dollar or two), but it's still fairly cheap, as others have mentioned.

Yeah paypal has screwed us international buyers because they make the sellers fearful.
It costs $2.23 stamp to send to me, plus whatever the bubble envelope costs. I have only had 2 items not arrive in the past couple of years. Registered postage is expensive, and should really only be used for higher-value items, but then both parties are in a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation...
The problem is dishonest buyers who file claims for cards they do receive. Those of us with morals would never do that, but some have no problem doing so, which ruins it for the rest of us
