Malkin BAP Auto is a 1/1...and other SP'S
Upper Deck The list of what we believed the NHL provided us was not correct so we had to update the checklist for 2009-10 NHL Be-A-Player Hockey. The checklist will be updated at midnight tonight. 35 singles posted on the checklist did NOT get in. 28 different duals are in the product and there are 14 triples, 1 quad, 1 six and 1 eight signature cards in the product as well.
The shortprints in the set are listed below:
Derek Roy
Ilya Bryzgalov
Jay Bouwmeester
Jeff Carter
Johan Franzen
Mike Richards
Paul Stastny
Ryan Suter
Henrik Zetterberg
Zdeno Chara
TJ Oshie
Evgeni Malkin (limited to ONLY ONE copy)

Important Update on BAP Signatures - SPs, Cards Pulled, and Who Is a 1/1?
There has been some discussion in the past couple weeks about short prints, people not seeing some of the checklisted autos, etc. in the new Be A Player.
So Malkin is a 1/1 auto - that should spark some interest among collectors. They have also updated the checklist on the official site to reflect the players that are in the set; does anybody have the original checklists to compare to what they have now?
Many people are justifiably quite angry about this.

Well the first thing I noticed is the checklist went from nine total Maple Leafs single autos to three. Which is a bummer...I was looking forward to adding a Mike Komisarek auto with him in a Leafs uni.

I am very disappointed with Upper Deck. Before we purchased a CASE last week my son and I reviewed the checklist to see what we could possibily get. My son is a HUGE Maple Leafs fan and was very much looking forward to potential big case hits. I've compared the "first" checklist to the new one and here's my list of who got left out.
Andrew Cogliano
Josh Bailey
Brayden Coburn
Martin Brodeur
Bryan McCabe
Blake Wheeler
Tyler Bozak
Cal Clutterbuck
Drew Doughty
Dan Hamhuis
Duncan Keith
David Legwand
Dmitry Kulikov
Erik Johnson
Eric Staal
Sam Gagner
Shawn Horcoff
Ilya Kovalchuk
J.S. Giguerre
Jonas Gustavsson
Mike Komisarek
Phil Kessel
Kris Versteeg
Robert Lang
Luca Caputi
Mark Streit
Matt Greene
Martin Havlat
Ryan Miller
Mikko Koivu
Ethan Moreau
Nathan Horton
Ryan Malone
Steven Stamkos
John Tavares
Teemu Selanne
Jonathon Toews
I feel like I as lied to and almost conned by Upper Deck. I was led to believe there was more to BAP then there actually is. They advertised their product to have certain autographs and once the product was released and people started to buy it, they then release the "new" checklist. I understand that checklists may sometimes change prior to release, but once the product is out on the store shelves, the checklist should be 100% acurate.
I think I may be totally done with Upper Deck when it comes to breaking boxes.Last edited by bobandson; 06-05-2010 at 02:26 PM. Reason: spelling error

The Multi Autos are the worst, as there are only 1 of the Quad, six, and Eight, so there are only about 20 of them in existence. Makes the chance of hitting one astronimical even when buying a case. Shame on UD waiting 2 weeks after release to mention this. A lot of people paid money for this just to realize they were shafted. What a horrible way to do business.

You have a very legitimate complaint. I'd call them and tell them exactly how you feel. Maybe I'm crazy, but couldn't this be taken into a legal aspect of things? You say you're getting one thing then they come out and say, oh no you can't get that.
