hope he doesn't sign a one-day contract with the Kings as he would find a way to screw the team again.

Well considering I knew this about 3 months ago, no biggie.

Not sure what you mean by what am I to "do" Richard?

I actually told Brian Price this was likely his last year as I was trying to acquire a Sharks gamer of Rob's for him for some upcoming releases.

Nothing to say, guy's a first ballot HOFer, one of the best d-men to play and easily one of the classiest dudes.

Thanks for an amazing career Blakey!

Dude, relax Dave, he was a great King in his time in LA (only Norris winner still) and, in all likelihood, will garner a position with the team so don't hate too much.

he was a great King in his first go around with them. i was a big Blake fan until he refused the trade because he didn't want to leave and then left at the end of the season. that doesn't mean he wasn't a great player, just no longer a great King. if he was concerned about the organization he should have been willing to be traded so the Kings could get something for him.

i'm not alone in my disdain for Blake. i would love to hear his reasoning and have him make amends because he'll never get a gig with the Kings until he does. he is public enemy #1 among most Kings fans.

    Rob Blake set to retire

After 21 NHL seasons, Rob Blake is calling it a career. The veteran defenceman is expected to make an official announcement on his retirement as early as next week.

Blake, 40, played in 1,270 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks, scoring 240 goals and 777 points. His best season came in 1993-94, when he posted 68 points....

He was such a great defenceman but I think it will be tight on whether or not he gets in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The list of big names is already getting long and it's going to be even bigger by the time he qualifies to be nominated.

Dude, if you think for even a second he won't get in, you're either not very well versed in your hockey knowledge or are just too young to have seen him play start to finish.

The guy will walk in, first ballot, with a key to the front door.

Yes, I am biased but the stats and accomplishments don't lie.

And no, I don't have 3 or 4 hours to type them all out.
