Kings Fans - Do You Want Kovy?

Did anybody else watch Kovy play for NJ, ummmmm ya this guy can score however his hockey sense is horrible. He breaks the flow, skates backwards, weaves with the puck, and makes horrible passes. Being stuck in Atlanta for so many years and being able to do whatever he wants, including 2 minute lazy shifts. The simple fact is for the money, the kings and everybody else in the west can do better, he just flat out isn't suited for the style of play in the west.

Think about it in terms like this say kovy scores 50 goals, but his lack of defense and back checking leads to 100 odd man rushes in a season, and your goalie stops 80%, that only makes him a 7 mil 30 goal scorer. Those are only hypothetical numbers but still its closer to real than people would like to think.

Detroit got lucky 2 times with zetterberg & datsyuk i dont think they have anyone else coming thru the ranks.

HA wow one series. Didn't Detroit score more goals in the series? SJ won the tight battles. And Detroit had to use their energy to get into the playoffs because of the injury bug. Do you even know anything about Detroit? How about Lidstrom, Ericsson, Holmstrom, Fillpula, Howard, Helm, Osgood, Franzen, and more being drafted AFTER the first round. Got lucky two times... stop hating just because yuor team can't find gold in the later rounds.

i wasnt hating at all im just saying the only GREAT players that detroit got in the draft were zetterberg and dasyuk. i forgot about franzen ill give you that one. lidstrom was a long time ago im just saying within the last few years. i wouldnt call Helm,Ericsson or Fillpula gold. they are decent players like the kings have with Simmonds,Quick, & Moller. who were all drafted after the first round. I wont count lokitinov or voynov cause they havent proved anything yet.

I was more trying to make a point about the way San Jose does things. They did beat detroit and yes detroit scored more goals but that was because they had a blowout win. nothing againt your team man.

SJ stinks, LA and Detroit are better than them in my mind. But Fillpula is a top line player, and Helm is a GREAT PKer.

I'll take Kovy, Lokti, Voinov, and Kitsyn all on the team in a few years please. Killer russians in LA
