    Paypal Gift - Fees now?

    I just made a purchase with a member here and sent the funds through PP Gift. However I was charged 1% of what I paid. Is this new?

    Have they found a way to discourage people trying to skirt the system?

    But my bank account converted $33.80 CAD to send the $31.31 USD ($31 plus the 1%).

    So technically PP is sending US dollars - not Canadian, no? My bank did the conversion.

    I would contact Paypal for the full explanation of why they charged you, the bank charges and PayPal charges is my guess not uncommon.
