T-Mac, Shaq, and AI?
It really pisses me off that three of my favorite NBA players still don't have a team this year. All of them have been All-Stars at least 7 times (15 for Shaq!), two have won All-Star game's MVP more than once, 2 won ROY, all led the league in scoring at least twice, they have been on several All-NBA teams multiple times, and one has four rings and 1 finals MVP.
So why don't they have teams? I think it really sucks. Sure T-Mac isn't the same as before (13 points in 35 seconds?) and Shaq and AI are getting older (38 and 35), but I know they can at least be solid role players, if not starters on certain teams.
Personally I am hoping Shaq signs with my Celtics, T-Mac signs with the Bulls, and I am just hoping Iverson signs with ANY team. It will be very sad to see these three players retire or be stuck without a team next season.
Please share any thoughts.

Yeah dude Miami could use a veteran scoring guard like AI. I am also angry that Ilgauskas went to Miami instead of Shaq.Last edited by XxViSiOnxX; 07-31-2010 at 12:49 AM.

Celtics don't need another overaged, past his prime player like Shaq. They already have Jermaine o'neal and glen Davis. AI still has some game, but his ego is too dang big to deal with. He still wants to be the man, which at this point in his career, no team will be crazy enough to sign him for. T-Mac is exact same as AI. He almost had a done deal to the Bulls, what stopped it? T-Mac doesn't want to be a supporting player.

Well the Hawks could use Shaq. And you're right, AI and T-Mac are probably going to have to suck it up and swallow their egos if they want to play this coming season.

Atlanta is still interested in Shaq I have heard. The Hawks and Cavs were trying to work out a sign and trade involving Shaq, but I doubt the Cavs will do that now unless they get draft picks out of it. They just signed Joey Graham and have no need for adding on more players to their roster.

Shaq should just retire, he's had a great career already, no need to ruin it even more by going to the Celtics.
I think AI is officially done, even if accepted being a bench player, I don't think he'll be able provide much help for any team, and remember I was HUGE supporter of AI last year. His best choice now is to play overseas like Starbury, if he's able to prove that he still has some of his explosiveness, maybe he'll be able to sign with a team next year, but even then, he still needs get over himself and swallow his ego, which I don't think will ever happen.
TMAC is the one player I feel could still be very productive and help out any team as a role player, but again he has to willing to accept being a role player, I could really see him as a Grant Hill caliber player. I'm still pulling for him and hope he could sign with the Bulls....or the Lakers, lol.
Overall, I too am really mad that my 3 favorite players this past decade are being embarrassed this way. But I think as fans, because these guys are big name players and had huge success in the past, we fall under the misconception that they might still be really good, but I've come to realize that, that's now far from the truth. The fact GMs are staying clear away from these guys, should be an obvious sign that these guys just don't have it anymore.

Iverson may have had the quickest drop off in play of any player in recent memory.
