Has This PSA Slab Been Tampered With? (Scan Heavy)
I recently purchased the following card online ....

One thing I immediately noticed was the top portion of the slab was not properly aligned with the bottom portion of the slab ...

I know that this is an older PSA slab and all I have for comparison are newer slabs so is anybody out there experienced with these older slabs?
I don't want to make an issue of this if it's perfectly normal for the older slabs to be sealed with an improper alignment.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe someone tried to open the holder, without success (because I think it would really had destroyed the holder), and it was for sale after. The value is located in the card, not in the holder. If you think the card deserves a better grade, you can crack the holder and re-send the card for grading.

I can't help with regards to the holder, but that is one very nice card assuming everything is on the up and up.

PSA holders frost along the sides when they've been popped and then put back together. I'd say you're alright and the holder was just sealed a bit off line.
If you want piece of mind contact PSA and see if they'll review the card for you.

So is it common with the older PSA issued slabs for the holders to be sealed without being properly lined up?
Thanks for the replies so far.

I wouldn't say it was common but I recall seeing some holders off a bit like that.

Is the card back really that yellow?

No, as you can see the blue background is much lighter in the scan of the card back as opposed to the front.

Good. Never saw a '59 that looked like that before. :)
