Cards 101: REAL & FAKE FLEER E-XL LOGOMEN

These cards have been faked for years, the 04-05 Fleer E-XL Logoman set. Since Fleer went bankrupt they auctioned off all of their blanks- cards without patches, autos, or serial numbers. They were designed to have all of those but Fleer couldn't produce them after they went bankrupt, so many of them got into the hands of patch fakers. Hopefully after reading this threads everyone will understand the difference so nobody ends up buying these fakes.

There are 2 different commonly faked Logoman cards, one is the 04/05 Fleer E-XL Auto Logoman and the other is the 04/05 Fleer E-XL Dual Logoman.

First up-- 04/05 Fleer E-XL Auto Logoman

Here is an example of a real card:

    FRONT (REAL)

    BACK (REAL)

Here is an example of a fake card:

    FRONT (FAKE)

    BACK (FAKE)

Here are some ways to tell the difference:
    1. Serial Numbering: Real ones will always have the '1/1' stamp on the back of the card
    2. Logoman Patch: Fake ones will usually have a generic-looking Logoman patch found here: http://patchcollection.com/product.p...cat=248&page=4
    3. Autograph: Real ones will have a sticker autograph. You can see in the Chris Bosh the sticker outline right below the top autograph border
    4. Autograph: The fake autograph will usually look different from other autographs of that player unless the faker is very good at forging autographs.

Next up is the 04/05 Fleer E-XL Dual Logoman 1/1

Here is an example of a real card:

    FRONT (REAL)

    BACK (REAL)

Here is an example of a fake:

    FRONT (FAKE)

    BACK (FAKE)

Here are some ways to tell the difference:
    1. Serial Numbering: Real ones will always have the '1/1' stamp on the back of the card
    2. Logoman Patch: Fake ones will usually have generic-looking Logoman patches found here: http://patchcollection.com/product.p...cat=248&page=4 and both Logoman patches will look like the one linked.

IF YOU ARE BIDDING ON ONE OF THE ABOVE CARDS FROM EITHER cash-money-cards (on ebay) or cards-4-college/kardsharkz (on ebay) IT IS FAKE

    Some examples of live auctions:

    Thanks,
    Andrew

great info, but seems the high bidder is clearly ripped off for over $300.
    bad waste of money.

Thanks for the info. Do you know who owns the Pierce/Allen dual logoman?

Hey brother, I had my doubts about the authenticity of this card and I know that you're good at these things so I was wondering if you can tell if this was real or fake? my main concern is that the card isn't numbered, what do you think?

I'd like to add that I believe there are some game used cards with actual authentic game used swatche(s) on fleer cards that were from the bankruptcy.

I once had a Karl Malone 00-01 Fleer Feel the Game GOLD, which should have been hand numbered to 50, but there was no numbering at all on the card. However, there was a plain purple jersey swatch in the card. Would someone add a plain purple jersey swatch to this card without adding the hand written serial number? The card isn't really rare and doesn't book or sell for much. This is what leads me to believe some bankruptcy cards can have a swatch atleast?

As for logomans or rare patch cards or autos, also beware that some scammers can put fake serial numbering on the card too.

Nope, none of the bankruptcy cards would have had jerseys. All of the cards with jersey pieces would have been released into the actual product. I'd say yours is fake.

I was under the impression Fleer also had back-up cards for replacements and maybe some of them were also part of the bankruptcy but I'm definetely not sure about that.

I have seen bankruptcy cards with jersey already, and it always has additional hand-numbered. For me, I just dont' buy them now, since anyone can put the "hand-number" on it. If I do see it, I wouldn't pay extra.
