nadeau- he's talking about he felt about Cleveland growing up. Who cares how you and your buddies feel? I'm also sure that you were a poor urban black kid growing up and have the same feelings as him. Correct? And as for embarrassing your city on national television, that same "embarrassing" and poor choice program did raise $2.5 Million for the Boys and Girls Program, but no one wants to remember that. What the Cleveland fans are doing is embarrassing the city, not what he did. But, no, keep overreacting to a player going to another team, and see how many big name players want to come to Cleveland to play for their loyal owner and fans.

OK? Again, what's your point? The way LeBron felt growing up about the city of Cleveland is a lot different than the way 99% of northeast Ohio feels about the city of Cleveland. You aren't even close to the situation, so why are you trying to justify what he says? YOU have no clue how NEO feels about Cleveland. I do. I grew up outside of Cleveland.
And why do I have to be a 'poor urban black kid' to know how to feel about Cleveland? I was an urban white kid who's family wasn't anything close to rich living in a city of Parma that isn't anywhere close to being a good suburb of Ohio.
And if you honestly think that his TV show was a good thing, then that's all I need to hear from you.

LeBron has lost his damn mind - he has the absolute worst PR staff of any athlete in professional sports.

So wait, the way LeBron felt growing up is irrelevant to his decision when compared to others? What? The way that he felt is all that matters when it is his decision. The way the other 99% felt is irrelevant. And I never said it was a good decision to do it live, but some good did come out of it. I really don't care how you feel towards the situation, but try to maintain some class and don't call out the mans mother for having a drug addiction. And you're right the discussion can be over. No point to try to talk to someone who doesn't know how to show class. Too bad LeBron, doesn't have any drugged out siblings you could go after. I'm sure it'd make you feel alot better on the inside that there won't be any major championships coming out of Cleveland for at least another decade.

You keep bringing up class. Alright....let's play that card.
Was it classy to go on national television and screw over your hometown team?
Was it classy to call out the Cavs owner and say "he never cared about me"?
Was it classy to say "We hated Cleveland growing up. There’s a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day"?
LeBron = classless. And if LeBron shows ZERO class to a city he completely screwed over, why should ANY fan show any class back towards him? And don't give me the 'be the better man' nonsense. This is about a town that lives and dies with their sports teams and has been through hell too many times with zero championships in close to 50 years.

I don't blame Lebron James for leaving for Miami....But i do agree he done it the wrong way....The hour special was crazy but it did raise money for the kids.....He has a big ego...so what....Cleveland fans don't have to worry about him anymore expect for the 4 games they face Miami in the regular season.....because Cleveland won't make the playoffs.......and about the Cleveland Owner/Lebron....They both are at fault.....BOTH....I agree with the point that someone made about big time players won't come to Cleveland because the owner rips the player.....I don't care what player.....other stars won't want to put up with that...

Other stars wouldn't come to Cleveland WITH LeBron, so that point is kind of irrelevant lol.
And as long as any other players don't claim over and over again that 'I'll never leave until I bring a title back to Cleveland', then the owner will have zero reason to attack him in the first place.

It's funny....LeBron doubts Dan Gilbert ever cared about him? Everyone else doubts LeBron ever cared about Cleveland.
Didn't someone say 'those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones'?

You really have no clue do you? We aren't upset simply because he left the Cavaliers. We are upset the way he left. I suppose you don't remember him saying that he would not quit until he won a championship for Cleveland? Well, all of us in Cleveland remember. Assuming you are a Cubs fan (based on your av) I figure you would know what it feels like to lose year after year and go for a ridiculous amount of time without a winner. When he said he wouldn't leave us without winning a title, we believed he would actually end our cities 50 year championship drought. He lied to us.
And you know what? That isn't even the worst part. The worst part is that he had an amazing team around him, and his team was one of the best in the league. This was our year. He had by far the best team around him in his 7 years as a Cavalier, and for the second year in a row, we were the best team in the league. There was no reason they shouldn't have made it to at least the Finals. But...Lebron QUIT on us against Boston. He quit on us, and his excuse is "I spoil people with my play."
Then, the free agency talk gets even more hyped up. Like most Clevelanders, I thought he would stay true to his word and say that he wouldn't leave until he won us a title. He talked with other teams and kept us in the dark, he wouldn't commit, but we still had faith that he would stay true to his word and stay. Then, he decides to go on national television and announce his decision. No one knew, he didn't have enough balls to tell the Cavs organization thanks for everything, but I had to move on, he didn't have enough balls to tell the Cleveland fans prior to his TV special that he felt like he needed to move on. He basically went on TV, keeping all of North East, Ohio (that includes Akron) in the dark, and he basically craps all over the state that has loved and supported him since he was in high school.
Now, if he had given his all in the playoffs and lost, we wouldn't hate him as much. If he had told the Cavaliers organization and the fans in Cleveland prior to his TV special that he "Gave everything he had to the city and organization, but I feel I simply need to move on with my career and go somewhere else" then we wouldn't hate him as much. And if he wouldn't have made a promise that he wouldn't leave us until he brought us some rings, we wouldn't hate him at all.Last edited by selby56; 08-17-2010 at 05:21 PM.
