    Mike Schmidt Mixed Bag

So this morning I get the mail and inside I see a return envelope from...Mike Schmidt!

I just about run in the house to open it up and inside sits my HOF postcard I sent him and I see sharpie on it. I pull it out and have no idea what to think about it. It is signed but the signature is a mess(not smeared just the way it was written) and looks radically different from my other two signed Schmidt postcards.

I have 0 doubt in the address I used but am really unsure what exactly to make of this. I am only a year into doing ttm so I'm still kind of green about some things and am wondering if this is a normal event or should I expect maybe a secretary, kid, or spouse kind of scribbled one out?

Thanks and apologies for the poor pic, just used the built in webcam on my macbook quick.

Man, it's hard enough to get Schmidt to send one thing back TTM much less 3 of them. But hey, he's a moody guy and you never know how he's feeling. Below is the one he sent me 2 years ago after I described how I didnt bother him after seeing him in a little sandwich place during lunch in Juno Beach, FL...

That looks more in line with my first two. As for him signing- I still can't believe he's signed for me not once but multiple times. I like to have duplicate postcards because I'm just about ready to shell out a ton of cash for a massive frame job for 1 set of my cards for display.

The more I've reflected on this the more I kind of like it. Its odd and looks off as opposed to the everyday smooth and silk Schmidt auto. As I said before I know the address is solid so I'm placing a ton of my faith in that.

Congrats on the success! He and Greg Maddox have always been my TTM white whales. I am 0 for 8 combined with them! I have tried hand written, typed, colored envelopes and oversized envelopes. Some players works great for certain guys and who knows why. Please post up up a photo of that display when you get it done.

Definitely will do. Its something I've been planning/working on for some time and why I have loaded the ttmm with seemingly duplicate entries. I'm getting right about ready to start getting the frame design and such set in stone.

As for ttm white whales it seems like everybody has that 1-2 people they just repeatedly hit a wall with. Its definitely one of the more interesting things about ttm- who responds to who/what.

There is a good chance that Mr. Schmidt or someone else who opens his mail recognized your name, letter, or something, since you have written to him 3 times in less than a year. Probably was annoyed with your multiple requests, and scribbled on your postcard. That is definitely not a real Mike Schmidt auto. Your first two postcards are authentic, but not the third. I would suggest waiting some time before writing again!

This was my original thought but so many people write Mr. Schmidt and just see nothing in return that I don't see anybody but him making the signing choices. I'm starting to believe he signed it in a rush or to partially agree with you noticed something similar to my previous requests and scribbled one out to prevent me from selling which I have no intention of doing. The more time goes on the more I suspect the later.
