Franklin Gutierrez... Will he finally get his gold glove?
Well, being a Mariners fan. There obviously wasn't too many bright spots so far this year. Of course we have Ichiro, and King Felix. Then we have this CF named Franklin Gutierrez.
The guy is an absolute ANIMAL at fielding. (Honestly he deserved a Gold Glove last year)
Have you heard of him / Watched him play? I know this award doesn't mean much to some people.. but I just really want him to win one.
Some of his stats, for you stat people out there.
1.000 Fielding Percentage
0 Errors
Only 1 Assist? (Idk if I looked this up right, but could be true, I'm bad with this stat stuff
)
Anyway.. Let me know if you think he deserves to win it this year. If you haven't heard of him, you really oughta look him up, pretty beastly.
I hate to say it... But Gutierrez has made bigger plays in the field than Ichiro in my opinion this year, but of course Ichiro will win one of them, along with Torii Hunter, hopefully that last spot is for Guti.
LMK your opinions.

He may.
I say that because although he 100% deserves this, he doesn't have a big enough bat. Although it's not supposed to, gold glove is totally effected by the player's offensive numbers too.

Yeah. I think that's why he hasn't won also. I guess I'll just hope for the best!

i say he definitely deserves it. I've lived in Alaska the last 5 years, and got alot of Mariners radio. Most of the time I hear Franklin Gutierrez, it's in the same sentence as "Amazing Catch!" lol
It sucks that the gold glove is partly based on offensive numbers as well.

He was one of my favorite Indians when he was in Cleveland....hated to see him get traded, but I agree. He's one of the best with the glove defensively. He most definitley deserves a gold glove.

What's wrong with the mariners? They always find a way to suck.
My brother is a M's fan and he gets super mad every season... cause they find every possible way to lose.
Is it just me or do a lot of guys go there and stink it up. Chone Figgins, Adrian Beltre, Erik Bedard, etc... those are just some that came to mind. This is just a trend I noticed, don't really follow the M's myself but I do know that Franklin Gutierrez is a very talented defensive outfielder.

Figgins had a VERY disappointing first half, but for almost the whole second half he's been pretty hot. 30+ Stolen bases too, which is part of the reason we brought him in.
Beltre, was one of my favorites, was very sad to see him go. But yeah, dunno what got into him, he's killing it now.
Bedard, the dude needs to get on the field and play. Period.
Guti has always been solid for the time he's been on the Mariners (though it's only 2 years) along with ichiro and Felix.
PS: I feel your brothers pain.

I know Gutierrez has less errors, but Austin Jackson deserves a gold glove before him.
