    Great Ip Signers

I've seen enough negative posts in the 'Bad Ip Signers' thread. Now I wanna hear some stories about cool athletes who would talk or sign for you, etc. Feel free to share some stories about an athlete that was cool/nice in person.

I have three stories. I met Joba Chamberlain Ip last year at a Steiner Sports signing right around Christmas time. Joba was really cool and spoke to each person, instead of just signing and shooing them away. He shook everyone's hands, posed for pictures, hung out with some little kids, and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. That was pretty cool to see.
My mom's work got these passes to a Mariano Rivera meet and greet sort of thing. I'm a life-long Yankees fan and he's my all-time favorite player. He took questions from basically every person in there. Joked around witha couple of Mets fans that showed up. Made sure he took a picture with everyone. THey were handing out these signed baseballs with Tony the Tiger's head on one side. He wasn't supposed to be signing individual things, but he didn't refuse a single item all night. Great moment from a great guy and a great player.
My dad's company helped sponsor one of ESPN Radio's Lunch with Legends. My dad and two of his colleagues sat with Walt Frazier and Michael Kay. My dad actaully sat next to Walt Frazier and said that the entire time Frazier kept talking about the NBA, the Yankees, and other topics. My dad got a couple of signatures for me and Walt signed and personalized them both to me. My dad said he couldn't have been any more pleasant. Not stuck up at all.

There are a lot of cool low name football players that are gracious to have the opportunity to play in the league. Some cool stars that I have encountered are: Justin Tuck, Antonio Cromartie, Brandon Jacobs, Shonn Greene, Phil Simms, Brooks Robinson, Paul Molitor.. there are a lot of good guys out there, as well as total d-bags.

Living in Iowa, and only making it to Cubs games, and away 9ers games (hopefully some Bulls games this year).. I don't get many IP opportunities.

    Some I've experienced..

Ryne Sandberg - Wow, what a great guy. For those that don't know, he manages the Iowa Cubs right now, and (hopefully) will be this coming year's new manager in Chicago, he's done this since he started managing, lines form near the dugout (and at the bus for away games) and he signs for as many people as he can before he has to go, I shook his hand and talked to him for about 20 seconds, which was awesome. Again, super guy, he'll sign about anything for anyone.

Last year I went down to Iowa City for the Iowa/OSU basketball game, and they were having 5 Iowa players signing before the game. They were presenting the Orange Bowl trophy at the game, so that's why they did it, but they gave these nice Orange Bowl Champions posters out and they had Ricky Stanzi, Pat Angerer, Adrian Clayborn, Tony Moaki, and Rafael Eubanks signing at tables around the arena. All the guys really nice, talked to Angerer for about 3 minutes as everything winded down. I hear Angerer was really cool with fans at Colts TC too.

Years ago I worked at bestbuy and the pats players would come in to get DVD's and Cd's for thier cross country trips.
Being a HUGE football fan i knew many of the guys w/o thier helmets on. I was lucky enough to get the following guys. Most were very cool and a few guys even talked with me for a bit.
Tory Brown- great guy and remeberd me from going into the store.
Damon Huard - double plus as he was a dolphin and great guy talked with me for like 20 min.
Richard seymor- (got him twice) Nice guy.
Anthony pleasant.- accidently called him the wrong name and he still signed for me after i said sorry.
Ty law signed 2 for me.
    Tedy Bruchi (SP)
Tom Knight- didnt make the pats the year he was here but AWSOME guy he was very poite and was surprised i knew who he was.

At my current place of work I got to meet Fred Taylor. He came in one moring to get something and it was only me and him. I asked him if it would be ok to get his auto he said absolutly. We chatted a few minuets and he asked how i want it signed (personalised or not) I said Please make it out to Justin.

I went to a charity basketball game at my old high school and thier were current and former players thier.
All were great to sign and even chatted with people.
    I got
    Julian Edelman
    Steve Dieossie
Bryan Hoyer ( his sharpie died on like the 3rd auto he signed. I had one with me so i gave it to him so he could sign for everyone. He signed mine right after that)
Steven Gaskowski (2nd time meeting him)
Kevin Faulk and 2 others who were former players.
