Ebay Actions that get pulled down

Its more frustrating when you have zero bids and 7 or 8 watchers up until the last day.
If you dont want that to happen you shouldnt wait so long to put the bid in. I bid on four items first day of the auction and one three of them.

Well, unfortunately for me, the whale I'm looking at the seller doesn't want to end early. I'll have to do it the hard way and get my weapons of mass destruction ready for a bidding war.

The new storefront that I am coding for SCF, currently is coded so you can only pull a auction if there is no bid on it. Has soon as a bid is register, the seller can't pull the listing anymore. Not sure how much we will use auction as ebay does have so many visitor and maybe member will be afraid to list them here.

Just curious to know if you think it's a good idea to prevent a seller to pull it early when some bid are done?

I think the seller should be able to pull as they please. But in like the last day of the auction, they shouldn't, because than they probably are because they don't like the action that isn't happening. But before than, maybe they just sold the card somewhere else. Happens all the time.

Yea I think the seller has a right to do what he or she wants with his or her own property until it is no longer their property. Thus if I feel like ending the auction 2 days before its over, or 2 seconds before its over, thats my prerogative. Especially if I do not feel like selling the item at that price, or at that time, or even to that buyer. I don't know where some people get their sense of entitlement. Just because something is listed, does not mean that it no longer belongs to the seller. Some actions may be "unethical" such as shill bidding or outside transactions to avoid fees, but all these things are choices the seller is entitled to make in regards to selling THEIR PROPERTY for the price they want.

Last 24 hrs could be a good compromise.

I see you as thinking about you only. A auction, to me, with reserve price, a seller as all the tools to prevent a lost and to say I would pull a auction because it sold elsewhere is dishonest to have the card listing elsewhere while putting the card in auction mode on a other site. All you care is to get your max dollars and don't really care about the other.

If a person get up late at night to be able to bid on a card and you pulled it. I guess you don't care for that. You prefer the dollars in your pocket over being fair to people. To me if you put a card in auction, there is two thing that should let you pull out. Some accident happen and you got the card stolen or damage and thus can't sell it anymore. The bid did not reach theminimum bid. Now unless the person pay accroding to your asking, there is no reason to not sell a card in auction. Any other reason to me is simply not honnest. While you can, I still see this as not being fair to put the card in aiction mode in the first place. Money in life is not everything. Trying to fool other by not being honnest in the first place is not in my book of how we should interact with other human. Why not use buy it with offer instead. This way it clear what you want for the card. Again I just see this as you are aloud to do it but it a bit dishonnest to me when I see how some consider they have all the right. Yes it's your cards but why use auction then is my question. All I see in your decision and how you handle things is $$$$$$$. Life should not be only money, it's part of it and we need to consider it but here you only consider what is good for you...

It's not about being dishonest, it's maintaining control over your auctions. Over the years on ebay and many sites I've amassed approximatey 900 blocked bidders - guess what happens when they decide to change their ID's? Yup, they can bid away again. Nobody has time to monitor ID's constantly but when someone pops up that I've previously blocked and makes a play for the card I will pull the item and if that fails I will absolutely not follow through on the sale to that person (once a thief always a thief is my policy). Ebay should have addressed the issue a long time ago of changing ID's.
