This is the fifth year for the cup release though you would figure that UD would at least have an idea of how long it would take to get their cards signed and returned. It would be interesting to hear the percentage of redemption stuff in past years. They all released in july/august and if they had 10% redemption stuff than this is inexcusable. But if they had 20-25% redemptions than its a step in the right direction.

To be fair to the players. A lot of them weren't getting paid and the NHLPA told them to put a hold on signing or returning cards until they were paid.
UD had an awful year in the court room. :)

Here are two tasks everyone should try
1. Write your signature as you would like everyone to see it.....1000 times....oh yeah - on a little sticker or in a small spot n a card...and thats for only one brand - do it another 999 times on another brand of card....and if your lucky....your a rookie and have to do it to 10 different brands....Try it - its lots of fun and should take you no time to complete
2. Try owning a business and having 100% customer satistfaction - Its cool to handle every persons complaint and get 1 compliment for every 20 complaints....AND make everyone happy....Good Times...The joy and satisfaction you will have when everyone is happy...
Just saying

I'll sign 10,000 things to be paid for it. They do get paid, some people don't realize this.

But rookies get paid less than a million, $500,000 a year. And plus you have to win the fans over.

And I bet you're not waiting on the rookies.
oh.. and they really don't care about cards to win the fans over.. they play a sport for that.

Ok than
They sign to make fans happy, to get paid, and to do a job. Part of their job is to do these type of things.

just wondering out of curiosity...
but do they HAVE to sign these hockey cards?
what i mean is...can a player refuse to sign a card? does UD approach player X and say "hey, we're making an auto'ed version of your card this year, will you sign?" or do they just produce the card, sign a cheque for $10,000 (or whatever the signing fee would be) and send the cards to the player to sign?
i guess what im asking is, do the players have a say in whether to sign these cards? or is it that UD wants to have an auto'ed card of player X, so player X is SOL and has to sign it?
(no comments like "its part of their 'job' to sign these cards" necessary...im simply asking a question)
