    New Old Guy

    Hello all,

    A little history...

Back in 1999, I was going through some stuff my mom had saved and found my old baseball cards, mostly 1965-1972. I went to a local card shop and when I found out the value of them, and saw all of the new Game-used and auto products I caught the bug.

I bought alot from 2000-2006 mainly, but also picked up some 80s and 90s stuff along the way. The last few years its only been a trickle, for a number of reasons. Mostly because I didn't see the stuff I'd bought in the early 2000s holding its value. (and the fact that MLB cut off Donruss, my favorite brand). I have mostly Baseball, with some Football and Basketball as well.

Now I'm looking at this ton of cards and trying to find the best way to get rid of most. I'd rather help collectors with their sets rather than throw commons out, and I'd like to convert some of the better stuff into cash for college funds.

I will most likely start by looking at wantlists and making offers. I don't really have time to put everything on an inventory, and this site looked more friendly to use than Becketts.

I was born in St Louis so like many others on here I am a lifelong Cardinals fan. Also like many of you I'm very disappointed in their second-half performance. I had such high hopes early on. Cudos to the Reds fans. They wanted it more.

As I work my way through the boxes, I will eventually be interested in saving some sets and filling them out. I like mainy retired / classics sets, and of course Albert Pujols like everyone else. and Bowmans.

Hopefully I can help some of you out.

    Mike (myocardinal)

Thanks everyone! I have one question from browsing around. Not sure if this is the place.

When browsing the threads, is there a way to mark specific threads or responses so I can get back to them easily. If for instance I see that someone needs 2010 topps and I go to check out my stash. Is there an easy way to bookmark the specific response so I can return to it directly without having to remember which thread it was in? Thanks.

    Hello Mike. Welcome to SCF.

Please be sure and look over our new member rules when you get a chance. We also recently launched our new Inventory Manager. Even if you don't have time to catalog your whole collection, you may find people who need something you have.

If you need any assistance getting around the site you can contact me or another staff member and we'll help you out.
