    question about grading

    hi guys

i need some advice about BGS grading. i saw an item which is graded Gem Mint 9.5 by BGS but normally on like the left side they would list the sub-grades like the Corner, Center, Edges, Surface, & Auto but this one does not list any of that other than Gem Mint 9.5. can someone please tell me what is up with that or what i am missing?

    thanks lmk johnnaseri

Sometimes the sub-grades are on the back of the slab - OR - if it's Beckett Vintage, it doesn't come with sub-grades at all.

    hi there

ahhhhhhhhhhhh i see that helps alot thank you. no it is not vintage but does it being on the back or not having any sub-grades make it less valuable?

    thanks johnnaseri

It doesn't matter whether the sub-grades are on the front or on the back as long as they are there. And generally speaking, whether the sub-grades are present or not, it doesn't de-value the card. It's the main grade that matters the most.

is it an older card? i believe the sub grades on the back were used by beckett a while ago before they switched it up and put it on the front. in that case, it might be more valued (very slightly) as beckett was known to harsh grader back then.
