    Without knowing what type of PC you have it is hard to say. Just grasping at straws here, it sounds like there may be an issue with your pointing device driver or settings.

    it was a prompt the popped up really fast when i was leaning on a certain button or a combo of two different buttons but i cant figure out what buttons they were.

    Maybe you have a bum keyboard or mouse, maybe there is a stuck button on your keyboard?

    Go into your control panel and restore the keyboard/mouse settings to factory default. That should undo any key locks or shortcuts that you accidentally hit.

    its at its factory settings already. i havent changed anything since i got it.

    It could be sticky-key settings, especially if you got the prompt. You can see this by pressing shift 5 times quickly. Ensure that feature is OFF (unless of course, you need it).

    If that's not it, ensure you don't have special software you installed with your keyboard. Some of them try to throw all kinds of "helpful" junk to tweak keyboard settings - it could be something along those lines as well.

    If that *still* doesn't do it - even tough you said it was a prompt - pop off your SHIFT keys and make sure they don't have sticky stuff on them (soda, fruit juice, etc)..
