Hey guys, we just moved to Kingston about a month ago from Cornwall and I've been looking around for card shops in the area. I've only found one, I think it was mainly a comic shop (lots of D&D?) and not much wax there.. was wondering if some of you know what shops are still in business and how the selection is now?

I frequent Dave and Steve's in Cornwall, so I'm just looking for a place to pick up a box of wax here and there when I can't make it to Cornwall on the weekends.

I still haven't found a good shop in Kingston, but a good guy to ask is BrokenHalo who also lives in Kingston (a couple posts above yours in this thread).

Was this place underground near the bus stops & a CIBC on Bagot st (Kingston gaming Nexus)? That's the local D&D / CCG place. The staff are pretty good & well connected.

My earlier post in the thread is still appropriate. All the places I mentioned still exist.

There's another another "flea market" type location on Bath and Palace Rd. (Across from the BMO). There's a basement Flea market open most days of the week. Seediest market I've ever been to. They have scattered 90's Magazines and the occasional lot of vintage cards. I once found a counterfeit Gretzky RC in there, so be careful.

Directly above them is a much less sketchy flea market. These guys have strange hours and I never know when they're open. up on the second floor though, there's this new card vendor. LOTS of vintage, very nice stuff, although prices a little high IMO. When I last visited them, their card display was nice and clean, immaculate even and there was no one behind the desk, so a sneaked a peak. It was the dirtiest working area I've ever seen. Rotten food and half eaten... stuff? total disorganization, all well hidden from view from that great looking card cabinet. Just stay on the public side of the display and you won't catch anything. Its not big by any stretch of the imagination, but its like #3 for card selection in the city.

I didn't subscribe to this thread before, but yes, I am also a Kingstonite.

    Cheers,
    reoddai

Thanks for correcting me. I was thinking you were still living there.

It was downtown somewhere.. across from a Tim Horton's and not too far down the block from an instrument shop. I'm terrible with street names, you'll have to forgive me lol. The outside of the shop was blue though, and next door to a smoke shop. We didnt look around too long, I think I saw a box of 09/10 SPA on the shelf but it was kind of awkward with all the kids floating around so we left.

The Collins Bay Flea Market is actually the closest place for me to hit up, I'm only a few minutes away in Westbrook, so I'll try to stop by after class this afternoon and see what I can find there.

Thanks guys for the help, and if there's ever any card shows or things like that in the area please keep me in mind and give me a shout!

Across from a Timmy's & near an instrument shop is "Action Comics" They're located on Princess st (HWy 2). Great for comics back issue, terrible for singles and packs, and customer service. I haven't been there in a while so I don't know if that last part has improved or not. They do host a lot of CCG tournaments though.

I'm in Bayridge, so we're not too far apart. There's a couple of other kingstonites here on SCF. We're not all that active though. Its nice to know that there's one more

As for card shows, Lu's comic store (or whatever their name is now), hosted one during Febfest for the last two years. Hopefully there will be another one this year.

If you ever want to work out an IP trade, drop me a line.

    cheers,
    reoddai
