Your 2010 SCF Trading Goals

Nine months down... Three months to go. As of Oct. 3rd... let's see how I'm doing:

(complete: trader rating = 190) 1st Goal - Continue to trade with people on SCF, so that I can continue to make friends and build up my trader rating to at least 150 (currently at 67)

(complete: 2069 posts) 2nd Goal - Eclipse 1,500 posts (currently at 759)

(complete: both sets completed) 3rd Goal - Finish at least one of the following basketball sets: 08/09 Topps Signature autograph set or 09/10 Bowman 48 autograph set

(complete: I've acquired 12) 4th Goal - Acquire at least 5 new Devin Setoguchi autographs (currently at 19)

(still working on it: I've acquired 7) 5th Goal - Acquire at least 25 new Aaron Rodgers and/or Brett Favre Refractors (currently at 10)

(not measurable, but I'm still working on it) 6th Goal - Continue to build my SJSU/Cal/Stanford autographed PC

(FAILED: I've spent more than my budget) 7th Goal - Spend less than $150 per month on cards & supplies (I've opened a special account just for cards. I'm going to add $150 each month... no more, no less) and try to save up for a Kobe autograph.

(FAILED: Not enough student support, so I started a chess club instead) 8th Goal - Start a card collecting club at my school.

(complete: Donated to Goodwill) 9th Goal - Donate some cards to a charity.

(still working on it: I still have a positive attitude) 10th Goal - To continue to have a positive attitude towards this wonderful hobby.

So... out of my ten goals... I've completed 5 of them... failed 2 of them... and I'm still working on 3 of them (although one isn't a measurable goal).

7th goal would be nearly impossible to achieve without dropping out of the hobby so don't feel too bad.

5 out of 10 so far isn't bad at all. If you're still working on goal 6 you could probably count that as a success right now. Just keep that positive attitude and you'll have 70% minimum goal completion. How can a chess club be more popular than a card collecting club? That just ain't right.

Mine aren't looking too good...

• Surpass 1000 KGs by February 1st (937 on 1/1) COMPLETE
• Surpass 1500 KGs by December 31st (937 on 1/1) IN PROCESS OF, BUT UNLIKELY
• Acquire another 100 KG GU to reach 200 different KG GU (98 on 1/1) TWO AWAY FROM THIS GOAL
• Acquire 9 more KG autos to reach 10 different POSSIBLE...AT 8 NOW
• Acquire a KG 1/1 NOT YET
• Achieve supercollector status for KG HA...lol
• Reach 200 different cards on each of my other PCs (Al Jefferson [93], Chris Paul [98], Ray Allen [88], Michael Jordan [83]) STOPPED COLLECTING BIG AL AND HAVEN'T ADDED MUCH FOR CP3, BUT I HAVE OVER 400 RAY'S AND I'M SURE I HAVE OVER 200 JORDAN'S
• Reach 500 feedback (327 on 1/1) JUST ACQUIRED MY 500TH FEEDBACK A FEW DAYS AGO

So, I guess it's not that bad...but, I thought these were all reasonable goals, and it doesn't appear that I'll be able to do them all...oh well! Still have a little less than 3 months...

I need 16 new Pudge cards to reach this goal.

150 different Ivan Rodriguez memorabilia cards
I need 3 new Pudge cards to reach this goal.

15 different Ivan Rodriguez autographed cards (Goal Accomplished: Currently at 16)

200 different Michael Young cards (Goal Accomplished: Currently at 231)

30 different Michael Young memorabilia cards (Goal Accomplished: Currently at 38)


20 different Michael Young autographed cards
I need 7 new Young autos to reach this goal.

At least 50% of the 2002 Diamond Kings set
I need 72 new '02 DK cards to reach 50% of the set and targeted insert sets. Currently at 336 out of 815.
Includes: Base set, parallel sets (bronze, silver, gold foil), Diamond Cut Collection, DK Originals, Heritage Collection, T204 and Timeline.

Achieve 400 feedback on SCF
Need 67 more feedback (not gonna happen).

There's my goals and updated progress. So far 5/10. The Pudge goals should be easy so I can pretty bank on finishing 7/10. Not way I'm going to sweep them. Just not a big enough volume trader to reach 400 by the end of the year.

With 2010 just around the corner, I figured I'd see what your trading goals are for the coming year on SCF, and just any general 2010 SCF goals. Mine would have to be:

• Reach 500 feedback (327 on 1/1)

Yeah, it's alot of goals, but I do believe all are attainable!

With the year coming to an end, here were my goals, with the results in red:

• Surpass 1000 KGs by February 1st (937 on 1/1) I believe I was off by a week or two on this one
• Surpass 1500 KGs by December 31st (937 on 1/1) This one is about impossible - I have less than 1300 KGs still, and I won't be able to make that up in less than 2 weeks
• Acquire another 100 KG GU to reach 200 different KG GU (98 on 1/1) Done! 220 as of today
• Acquire 9 more KG autos to reach 10 different I own 9, but I may complete this before the year is over...
• Acquire a KG 1/1 I did better - I now own 2 1/1s
• Achieve supercollector status for KG Not happening
• Reach 200 different cards on each of my other PCs (Al Jefferson [93], Chris Paul [98], Ray Allen [88], Michael Jordan [83]) Stopped collecting Al Jefferson, haven't added much of anything for CP3, but I own over 400 Ray Allen's, and I surpassed 200 Jordan's, I do believe
• Reach 500 feedback (327 on 1/1) Done...but not by much
