    Anyone Else Have/Collect Vinyl?

Anyone have interesting collections, collect, buy/sell, etc. Vinyl Records?
I dug out my dad's records in my grandparents' basement about a year ago now, and have been building my own collection off of it since. I usually go to Flea Markets & Record Shops.

At one time I had well over 200 albums. Like you, I spent free time going to flea markets and yard sales. Before I moved I had a yard sale and a guy that I'd seen time and time again that buys nothing but vinyl bought my entire collection. My most prized piece was the original Glenn Miller 4 album collection. Nothing makes the hair on your arm stand up than when the orchestra wales!

    That's cool!
I personally collect classic rock on vinyl, but any cool stories interest me. I actually found Rush's near complete vinyl discography (well, from their first in 1974-1987), in my grandparents basement, of my dads.

Have a handful of picture discs from 80's metal bands. Couldn't hardly find them around here so I gave up.

    Neil Peart, THE drum god!

There is no other way to put that statement!
I saw Rush a few weeks ago @ the TD Garden in Boston-phenominal show.

I just got a great haul of vinyl from the local flea market yesterday morning, including:

Pink Floyd - The Wall (4-disc)
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
Eric Clapton - Slowhand..... AND "At His Best"
Tom Petty - Damn The Torpedos
AC/DC - For Those About to Rock
    Bad Company - Bad Co.
Van Halen - Van Halen II

I've also recently picked up stuff like Led Zeppelin IV & III, Hendrix Experience Smash Hits, Steve Miller Band 1974-1978, and more.

    Hi,
I began collecting vinyls last year, I collect 60's-70's rock mostly,
I'm a big fan of Rush too, so far I've found Moving Pictures (x2), 2112, Hemispheres, Caress of steel, got them for $1 or less each! (yard sales/thrift stores) and Exit... stage left which I bought for $3 (like new!)

also trying to get all the Led Zeppelin albums (got I, II, III, IV, Physical Graffiti and the song remains the same, so far..)

Also interested in Neil Young, ELO, ELP, Pink Floyd (I found 3x Dark side of the moon, but unfortunately can't seem to find the other ones) and many other British Bands like Black Sabbath, Dire Straits, The Beatles etc....

oh ya and sometimes I buy lots and resale what I'm not really interested in keeping, so far I've made good money (recently sold some old westminster classical LP's, around $500 for like 7-8 of them on eBay) which helps finance my collection

    edit :
"Pink Floyd - The Wall (4-disc)"

Nice find! Is this a special edition or something? because most I've seen on eBay were 2 discs?!

That's very cool we have pretty similar styles of music. And I actually meant 2 discs, 4 SIDES. My bad! I still get mixed up talking about that,
That's cool about the 3x DSOTM's you have. I've seen a few but all bad condition or pricey. I actually have never seen any other Floyd records besides DSOTM & The Wall.... pretty odd.
And congrats on the Zep collection too. Looks like all you need is In Through The Out Door and Coda?

oh ok haha, did you get a good deal?

Actually I have Meddle too by Pink Floyd but it's in pretty bad condition (I should not have bought it in this condition but it was only 50 cents).

ya I need those two, Presence and Houses of the holy

what is fun about this hobby is you can get some of the best albums ever in yard sales etc... for like 50 cents! Like I said I paid $3 for Exit... stage left but the rest I paid $1 or less... it's amazing

Oh I know.... the least I've ever payed for an album, is I've payed $1 for several of the ones I have... but at this local record shop they have these shelves of "Take Up To 5 Free" Records. you'd think they'd be in bad condition, but they're great! I got a few good ones like Modern English (w/ I Melt With You), Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms( classic album), a Police album, Robert Plant solo, and I forget the last, I'll have to go check back on that.

But yeah, I would've definitely taken Meddle for $.50, even if there's one better condition out there, $.50 is a steal!

And yeah, Houses of the Holy is on my list, as well. Are there any classic, CLASSIC rock albums you have that you haven't mentioned? I mean, like for example I have u2's "The Joshua Tree", van halen's "1984", pink floyd's "the wall", rush's "moving pictures", the doors "l.a. woman", etc.

I also really really want to find Back in Black someday, in good condition.
