    And one last kick to the junk by UD on the way out...

    This is why I decided to leave the hobby, its no fun when this happens. I feel especially bad for player collectors, knowing that this may keep you from getting that low numbered card you really need...heres the story.

    I purchased an 09-10 Trilogy Clearcut Quad Auto of Terry O'Reilly, Ray Bourque, Johnny Bucyk, and Joe Thornton /5. An unbelieveable quad auto of four great Bruins captains and a card I DESPERATELY wanted for my O'Reilly PC. Of course everything is a gamble with redemptions, but these four are frequent signers with UD and all have autos released this year, so no problem right, its only 5 cards for each to sign. I check me status every day until August it changes to "in stock", sweet! 2 weeks later it changes to "item being pulled". Being in oregon, once I see that message my cards usually arrive within a week. Well, a week later, the status changes back to "in stock", UH OH. A few days after that, back to "being pulled". It stays this way for exactly one month, fearing the worst and getting no reply from CS, i posted a message on the good ole facebook. I check earlier today and I recieve a message from UD to email about a "problem" with my redemption. I send a reply, check my inbox and this.....

    Joe,
    I received your e-mail from ********* regarding your redemption.
    We only received 3 of the 5 cards for this particular redemption so we were only able to fulfilled the 3 people that redeemed their cards first.
    Unfortunately over the past month or so the notes regarding your redemption still showed item in process of shipping. At that moment last time I moved your redemption back to be fulfilled and when we pulled redemptions again for hockey if moved your redemption back to item in process of shipping which was false.
    Please send me a list of players you collect for a replacement, since I'm a Bruins fan I understand the importance of this type of redemption so don't feel like you won't get that in return.

    So not only do i not get the card, Ive been jerked around for 2 months, when someone from CS could have just replied to my messages in the first place telling me the situation. Not saying this is the right or wrong way to go about it but, couldnt UD email the 3 others with that redemption and see if anyone will take a replacement instead? I mean, its possible someone would love to trade this for an adequate replacement of someone they collect. Instead I get shafted out of a great PC peice. Well when you only collect one player, who do you even ask for as a replacement? Comments? Suggestions?

    EDIT: I have been offered the following replacement:

    I have a sweet Ultimate Collection Dual Patch Auto #'d to 5
    Cam Neely/Ray Bourque (the Bourque patches are single patches probably from the Avalanche but the Neely Patches are sick from the Bruins)
    Plus a 2009-10 OPC Premier Signings Dual #'d to 25 Bobby Orr/Ray Bourque
    Also a Adam Oates UD Black Auto

    i would ask for another quad auto, or an highend auto from each of those players

    Thats awful man I'd lose my mind. Bottom line is no replacement is better than the card you originally wanted. Dang Redemptions.

    Too bad about that card, but the Thornton auto on it kills it for me as a Bruins fan. I'd see if I could squeeze something else out of them instead of the Oates in their offer list. The rest looks pretty good. Good Luck.

    I had a similar experience with UD but I got my the redemption. It was a gold dual ticket auto redeemed last November, and in Jan the status changed to "In Stock" and in March it changed again to "...being pull...pls be patient"....and then it got stuck in that status for months. It is a dual ticket auto of star players I don't really collect, so I emailed UD a few times and asked for replacement if the card was not ready. No reply at all. and just last month, I got an email from UD saying that the card is shipped , please look for it in mail...and I got the card in less than 1 week.

    Sorry to hear about your experience.

    I'd say take the replacements being offered but it definitely is a shame that you don't get the card you want because of Upper Decks mistakes.

    Actually, Kudos to UD, Ben, the gentleman I dealt with was gracious and pleasant. He sent me an original offer that I would like to be tweaked a bit an we settled on the following:

    09-10 Ultimate dual patch Auto /5 Neely/Bourque (last 2 sold for 200 and 175)

    09-10 OPCP Signings Dual Auto /25 Orr/Bourque

    08-09 OPCP Dual Auto JSY /50 Bourque/Bucyk (replacing the Adam Oates black Auto)

    Very fair replacement, while the quad would have been a great card I feel the value of the replacement might possibly exceed the value of the Quad.
