That's true, but how about an Antropov /500? Or an Antoine Vermette /250? They may have numbers on 'em, but you aren't moving 'em. LOL

People collect those players haha, just not many. But hey just the fact they are numbered is pretty cool.

Design is worse with Panini and too much is too much for us collectors too. :/

It's going to be interesting to see how all of this plays out in the coming weeks. If some super-intrepid collector can post up a Show & Tell day of his completed Certified collection of his player, that'll be a good indicator that people are definitely buying in to what is being offered to us in terms of the parallels.
One thing that I like seeing is that for the most part the memorabilia cards are numbered. I've always been curious to know just how many copies of an UD Game Jersey there are of Goalie 31 - Panini's giving us that information. Same goes for the autos.
Do I still think that there are too many stages overall of these parallels? Yes. Is it slowing me down any? Well, I have already purchased a total of 6 Carey Price cards, 3 of which are Masked Marvels (base, blue, and red), and I am very much interested in hunting down as many of the memorabilia cards as I can simply because of what jersey they've used in this set.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

The numbering on the GU and autos are nice as well, totally forgot about that!

I'm considering doing the complete set of Platinum Red Parallels /999 or one of the other parallels sets /250 or /500. Those sets will have set collectors guarenteed and also the rookie autograph and rookie auto/jersey should have set collectors as well. The GU cards /250 will have set collectors. Already I have seen 1 person on another site looking for all the Fabrics of the Game cards.
Also the Freshman Signature cards are like rookie cards so if you pulled one of those then you pretty much got a rookie in that.

I thought this same exact thing last night. You can easily put together a 'nicer' base set probably without breaking the bank. With options at 'higher' print runs (>250), there will be lots of singles readily available to give a set collector a unique set (probably not a 100x multiplier, obviously) along with enough singles for player collectors to find their 'guy'.
I'm kind of looking forward to my breaks tomorrow night and picking my 'set' from what I pull.

Can't argue with that at all. And having the numbering on the back is so great because it doesn't take away from the design on the front.

I thought Panini Certified = UD Artifacts
The same people who hate parallels with artifacts will hate Panini certified.

Changing the color or foil on a card and stamping a different number doesn't do much for me. I'm not a collector if inserts either, but I would rather have a completely different insert card design than 50 parallels of the same damn card.
