How Should a Bucket be Organized?
Hey everyone, I am thinking of re-organizing my bucket and I am just wondering what format I should organize everything into. I would like to know your opinion on what layout of bucket you most like to look through. I have seen buckets organized by product and then further by year, organized by team, organized by type of card (ie. jersey, auto, gu'd, etc.), or I have seen real general ones stating either simply FT or FS. Leave me some feedback as to which of the above you find easiest or most enjoyable to look through, or if you have your own ideas I would love to hear them.
Thanks for reading, I look forward to hearing your ideas!

*cough*Use SCF Inventory*cough*
It all depends on how much time and energy you want to put into it. There's a lot of really highly detailed & organized buckets out there that are sorted by year, set, team, autos, GUs, you name it.
I don't really have a preference organization-wise, but I will say this: Tags help a lot. If I'm a team collector and I just have to click "Montreal Canadiens" to see what you have for that team, that's great.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

The best ones I've seen have tags for either team or player, making it really easy to search.

I keep everything organized by Game Used, Autos, Parrallels, Notable Base, Rookies, PC, and the odd ball folders for say heavy set cards, like 09 Ultra Gold Medallions, and I have a ton of them or something. Then, as stated above...make sure that every card is tagged with a Team. So much easier to search and make trades this way.

I second this. Only downside is one image per card, so no backsides, but given it's a FREE service, no complaints. I have had several inquiries about my cards because of the Inventory Manager. Now I just have to get a scanner/software that autocrops and I'll be adding more images to my inventory...

I agree on using tags for each section. It makes it way easier if youre looking for a particular card.

Thanks for all the input guys! I am currently working on an SCF inventory.. it seems to be a good way to search for cards if you are interested in a specific player with minimal work on my part. And then I will probably make a bucket to supplement it and then maybe divide it by team or something like that for people who just like to browse through pictures until something catches their eye. Thanks again everyone, very helpful.

It would be nice if a group could set up a standard for buckets to be organized/tagged.

Basically, our new inventory is on that road. We compile all sets list and cards attributes from all cards sets, then it's easy to search and finds cards.
You can search all members bucket/inventory all in one, restirct to print run with 50 or less for a given player, get only rookie for a given year. Photobucket will never be a good free solution. But now, with our new and free inventory, we can do all that photobucket does and all you have to do is search, add and upload images. Once you are used to using it then it work for you diffusing to all internet the card you have for trade.
So mainly your inventory become searchable. PC only show up if you are on a person inventory page and click on the personal collection tab. So it not searchable unless you get to the PC tab. Only your trader get search.
The other day, a person wanted all my Drew Daughty cards because he seach my inventory. I had a few other contact me and I am not atcive at all in the trade forum. Member just find them via my inventory. Once member get to start using it more, it will simplify finding cards and trading. Take sometime to see what it can do for you.

Personally, as a guy who collects a wide range of things, team-organized buckets can take FOREVER to go through. It can be tedious if there are 30 different pages to click on, rather than 4 or 5. Also, let's say your best trader is a patch /5 of, say, Nathan Horton from his Panthers days.... how many people are going to skip clicking on that Panthers link?
