    2010-2011 Rookies (So Far)

Just curious as to what everyone feels about this years Rookie Class. I know its still early in the season but I am a tad dissapointed so far. Could the CBA have anything to do with it?

John Wall is doing good, Evan Turner is starting to come along, Derrick Favors has shown some flashes, DeMarcus Cousins has been strong but a bit inconsistent, Wesley Johnson has been reaching but then getting down a bit...after that, still a bit up and down given most of the lottery picks have been getting 3-5 mins a game or none at all (Patrick Patterson).

I was a bit ticked that the 2nd rd has either been waived/injured/overseas or no minutes as well, A TON OF THEIR STUFF is in 10/11 Prestige and a bit in 10/11 Limited.

Omer Asik, the Bulls Turkish rc, had shown great glimpses. He'll be a great back-up center for Noah. I hope Panini makes some autos of him this year.

I think we have been really spoiled by Rookie Classes of the past.

Last year we had Tyreke Evans, Curry, Jennings, etc and almost all the marquee players drafted last year played quite alot and made contributions to their team.

In 08-09 we had D Rose, Mayo, Beasley, Lopez, etc and again those players had big impacts on their team.

This year, because of all the roster changes, seems to be a re-building year for most teams and coaches are still trying to figure out chemistry. Unfortunately, for most rookies this means less playing time especially at the beginning of the season.

Dont expect a rookie this year to explode for a 55 point game anytime soon, ie B Jennings last year. I know a few guys will have coming out parties but no huge game changers.

I like Evan Turner, Cousins, and Wall but unfortunately because they stand head and shoulders above the other rookies their cards are ridiculously priced.

I'm keeping a close eye on Wes Johnson, Gordon Hayward, Greg Monroe, and Al Farouq Aminu. I think those guys have the best chance to pick up some PT and do something with it.

Im sure once December is over we will have a clearer picture on what this class will become, a 2000-01 repeat or worse...LOL

Armon Johnson has done a decent job at backup PG for the Blazer in my opinion.

Paul George is obviously going to be a big-time star eventually, but right now he can't get enough minutes to put up more than just 10 points a game as we have so many other wing players deserving of minutes--Dahntay Jones, Brandon Rush, Mike Dunleavy, Danny Granger, and James Posey. Paul will eventually overtake Danny in terms of who's the better player, but that will take a couple seasons. Next season will be big for PG as he'll have plenty of minutes after we get rid of several of our high-paid wing players via free-agency (I believe about $34 million worth in salary we will finally be dropping). Paul has already had lots of highlight plays and is fitting in VERY well right now for us. He also plays great on both ends of the court, which is even better.

I have no idea why the Pistons are not giving him more time. We have absolutely no size down low, at all. He immediately gives us a presence down low and helps a ton with the rebounding.

Same here. Really hoping to see an Asik or two soon.
