Don Zimmer
Real or Not? I have a few Zimmers. Are they real?

You will always find the people that have said his wife is the one signing all the items. I have a number of items that were signed by Duke Snider, Carl Erskine and the "Zim". I'm hoping that since he saw the other signatures already on the pics, he really signed my pics. I got him IP in St. Pete a few years ago and the sig looks identical to the TTMs that I have. Either way, I really don't care because they are my personal items and I have never tried (nor will I!) to sell anything from my collection.

Zimmer's signature seems like it would difficult for another person to sign spot on (I know people can forge anyone, I'm saying why would his wife practice it so much to sign stuff for free). I got him in person last spring and he was a really nice guy. He seems like he has more respect for anything than to have his wife sign his stuff.

This. I always consider the person almost more than the signature when deciding autopen vs autograph. Don Zimmer in my eyes is MUCH more likely to really sign than a stuck up prima donna like, for instance, Tony Romo or the thousand other guys that autopen.
Everything I've heard about Zimmer would lead me to believe they are real.

If he really was having his wife sign his TTMs, how would anyone know that? It doesn't seem to be something you would go around telling people about. The best way to tell is to compare IP sigs with TTM.
I received the linked autograph TTM from Zimmer less than a month ago. If anyone has an IP, please compare the two and let us know what you think.

Wow, I don't know if those TTMs are real. They are signed very nicely, maybe his wife is doing it. Here is my IP ball. The letter "Z" is also different. of course they are close, and the items are different. Balls are tougher to sign than index cards so that all may have something to with. I guess that is part of TTM. You can never be certain.

Don Zimmer has signed a couple of times for me and I actually received a note saying he was too ill to sign a couple years ago when he had a stroke so I think he signs his stuff because he has since signed for me.

The telling sign is the D in Don. In-person and authentic mail have an open 'D' like in jyosi's ball. The 'wifes' version has the D closed.
