Maybe I'm missing something...but while I can barely buy Christmas presents for my kids, I'm paying SS taxes so you can buy a case of cards? I can't treat myself to a Wal-Mart retail pack, but at least somebody's buying cards with my money.
Sorry to be a downer...but that just rubbed me the wrong way.
I'm sure I'll catch hell for saying so, but I couldn't bite my tongue on this one...that's a perfect example of what's wrong w/SS.

understand what your saying, Its just been a thing Ive wanted to do, but have decided to against it, reasoning for the idea was Im getting a lump sum of 2091.00.
And will get 697 starting Jan 1st, most goes for bills.

just for those who dont know, I was in the hospital in april, missed easter, from suicidal thoughts, and have bi polar, depression and OCD.
So, it sucks, and hurts I cried and cried every night, but finding out i can contribute to my house hold, and actually having extra cash and not asking my mom ffor money, makes me feel like a million bucks.

That part I get and I'm glad that has worked out for you. I still think SS is fundamentally wrong, but I can understand it going to people who need it to live. My point is if you're getting enough to pay your bills and you have enough extra to buy a case of cards, you're getting too much. Nothing personal towards you...I don't fault you for taking money that's given to you, I fault a) the system as a whole and b) how the system is set up.
I hope you'll understand my frustration that I have only been able to buy 1 retail blaster in over a year due to money problems, but someone on government assistance can afford a case. My card money goes to taxes so someone else can buy cards...I'm not cool with that. Again, nothing personal towards you, I just completely disagree with the entire tax and government assistance programs in their current state.

I hear ya, Ive been hurting with money, most is going towards bills, when I meant a case, I meant saving up for one, Im getting 697 a month, and will only keep around 200 a month for pocket change, and likely use 25 for a gym membership and 75 for my doc bill, so only 100 left over.
