Research Project: Need your help
I'm looking to do small research project on shipping using PWE's and I need your help to do this.
I am looking for people from different parts of the US to get a card from me.
Cards will be shipped in one of the following manners in the PWE
*Card only
*Card in sleeve only
*Card in PS, and TL
Additionally, some will include "DO NOT BEND" on the letter, some will not.
I will ask you send me the following via PM:
* shipping information
When you get the card, I will need the following:
* How long the card took to be shipped
* Did your envelope have a DNB tag on the envelope
* Each Card will include an identify number, I will need this.
* Scan/photograph the card when you recieve it
* Where the damage is located
* Additional information that I need to know
I can offer you nothing in compensation for this other than my thanks.
If you have questions, please feel free to ask.
Scott

Sounds like a good idea. Im not interested, but have some useful information on it. I work at UPS loading trucks, (i'm a student, part time job while in school), and encounter packages saying "Don't bend" or "Fragile, Please handle with care" every day. If the packages are coming slow, or its the end of the night and only a few stragglers are left, I will be very careful with these. If it is a very heavy night and packages are all over the place, I generally will treat them like any other package because I simply dont have the time to follow specific instructions like, "Only lay this side up" ect...
Also, if someone takes the time to write out, "please handle with care" on their package, I normally will do just that. on the other hand, if a box has a sticker on it that says the same thing, I treat it just like any other package. I dont know if that will help you at all with your project though...

actually, this helps because it gets into the mind of the package handlers. I'd be really interested if someone that works for the USPS would be willing to give some insight
Also, I'm looking for 36 people to start with... obviously, the more, the merrier

I'd be happy to do it. More mail never bothers me.
