why would you think that though? People are really petty enough to hold what happened against him outside of the ring to diminish the type of performer he was inside the ring? Not have him on the list at all when clearly he was easily one of the top 20 performers of all time? I'm sure people can look in the closets of all the other superstars and find awful things too

The Crippler was a great wrestler and should be on the list. Sure what he did was bad but he was under the influence of medications/steroids that his employer probably provided him.. but as you can see.. John Cena ahead of Hogan and Flair this list is really flawed unless you are a 13 year old.

As everyone said Hogan at 23 is a joke, but they are putting him and warrior in their upcoming video game.

Steamboat?
He must have been in the room when they made the list....that is ridiculous. Hogan is clearly #1 because he carried wrestling and Flair is #2 because he is simply the best wrestler

There's only 1 part of this list I agree with and that's Shawn Michaels as number 1. Let's clear up a few things, Hogan is EXACTLY where he should be whether people want to admit it or not. He should not be in the top 5 or even top 10, even in his prime he wasn't a good "pure wrestler". He was hollywood, a great super star gimmick, no more than that, he couldn't ever do an iron man match. He did not have alot of in ring ability as far as what makes you a great "wrestler". And by no means am I saying he should have bounced around the ring like Rey the midget because there's no way that guy should be in the top 30. Warrior wouldn't even crack the top 100 in my opinion, behind he scene's, nobody could stand the guy...he was a HORRIBLE in ring performer and would even injure other wrestlers to the point where nobody wanted to work with him. He was a flash in the pan, he would run to the ring and tired himself out before the match even began, I can't remember a match ever lasting longer than 10 mins which him because he was sucking on air the whole match. HBK had it all, probably the most charismatic wrestler EVER. Everyone who stepped in the ring with him became a better wrestler. Like I said though, that's the only spot I agree with, absolutely NONE better...I do think Flair should be in the top 10 though.

You must have slept throught the 80's and 90's "brother." I must admit that Hogan these days probably needs to hang em up considering he can't walk and ain't that great of a talker anyway. They spent months hyping him up to have him on the show once every 3 months. However, wrestling is entertainment and you can't come up with a guy that sold out places and brought the attention and excitement to wrestling like Hogan did back in the day. He also didn't have to do it by going out every week and chopping at his crotch ala Shawn Michales. I wouldn't be typing this today if it wasn't for Hogan and I bet alot of you wouldn't be reading this without the guy. They said greatest superstar so I'd put him at the head of the list easily. If it was based on "wrestling ability," Andre wouldn't even be on the list but they aren't really wrestlers anyway, they are entertainers. That should be understood, it is world wrestling entertainment. The guy was pretty limited in the ring but that is what makes what he did that more impressive!

HBK didn't just entertain fans by "crotch chopping". I agree with you that Hogan's "image" was HUGE and when anyone thinks of "greatest of all time" Hogan always seems to be in the conversatin. Look i'm not hating on the guy saying he was a horrible entertainer because that would be a dumb statement. You have to look at it this way, Hogan was who he was because of the way he did business and HBK was the way he was because he was always willing to do business regardless if he agreed with it or not. Hogan wouldn't even come back in the 2000's to make an appearance unless he was shining somehow and when it came to that match with him vs HBK the "Legend vs Icon" match he wanted HBK to turn heel again just so it would be believable that he could beat Shawn. Hogan got blessed to be the top guy in an era where wrestling was blowing up globally, Michaels held the "WWF" together in the 90's when WCW was killing them in the ratings. So you can make an argument that nobody would be talking about any of the guys from 1998 and on had it not been for HBK. Just because someone came first does not make them better by any means. HBK has been in plenty more big match situations than Hogan has throughout his career. Just look at it this way, HBK won the best match of the year award 11 years. 93-97 and 04-10. He was injured from 98-02 so that's not many years more that he could have won it than what he did. Whether people liked him or not he sold tickets. It's insane to even think of a top 1 or 2 spot without mentioning Shawn Michaels.

I guess why I would put Hogan at #1 is because when I think of the term professional wrestling he is the first wrestler that comes to mind. I can't see HBK ahead of Hogan ever.

I agree, even as a massive HBK mark. When you mention pro Wrestling even to those who have never watched it, most know of Hulk Hogan, he completely changed the business. If he wasn't in TNA, he'd be higher on the list, but I don't blame WWE, you never want to talk or build up those in another company.Hidden Content

yes Hogan changed the business but HBK revolutionized the industry forever. If Hogan had wrestled in HBK's era (being in his prime I mean, because anyone who knows anything about Hogan knows his prime was the 80's) then he would not have been as big as he was. Hogan reminds me of John Cena today, all muscle and no TRUE charisma. When someone is marketed and pushed upon the fans as much as guys like Hogan, Cena, Orton, Austin, of course their image is seen as a god like figure to the fans. I am looking at things from an overall standpoint, not just "well Hogan was good in the 80's and very early 90's". HBK was great throughout his whole career EVEN WHEN the company wasn't pushing to market him to the fans as the best they had, he gave it everything he had whether it was a simple house event or a WrestleMania match. Heavyweight titles mean nothing in a sense of best "superstar" because look at Flair and HHH, their not the best ever and they have like 30 heavyweight titles combined. Only list I would EVER put Hogan as number 1 on honestly is for best Gimmick to the fans and best at situational business deals. To be the best "superstar" which is what this thread and dvd is all about then you have to be great your whole career and Hogan certainly fell off bigtime when he went to WCW and eventually to TNA. And you guys are right, the list is a bit tainted towards guys who left the company and went elsewhere, had Hogan not went to WCW and faulted his career perhaps I would say top 5 and perhaps even top 3 but people who say he should be ahead of HBK are just lying to themselves.
One more thing...just because people "know your name knowing nothing about wrestling" doesn't make them a better Superstar...heck everyone knows Leon Lett, that doesn't make him the best of all time lol
