I am going to compare this to basketball. Jordan is Hogan and Kobe is Shawn Michaels. Jordan was great in the 80's and 90's but Kobe revolutionized the industry just like HBK. Jordan came back and played for the Wizards and had completely fallen off while Kobe stayed consistently great and sells tickets. But when you think of greatest of all time you pretty much think of Jordan.

How exactly are people clarifying that HBK "revolutionized" the industry? Especially more than Hogan who helped make wrestling mainstream and Newsworthy

Because HBK propelled the WWE into the attitude era which in turn eventually helped them buy out WCW and ECW making them the #1 brand today. Even people who may have only seen him wrestler once know they got more than their money's worth. He doesn't have all those accolades for nothing. He introduced new move set, new match types, better match environments. Behind the scene's he was constantly proposing new ideas to McMahon and the higher up's. Why is there so much hate towards HBK?? To say on a personal opinion level that he's not the greatest all time is one thing but to sit there and question if he revolutionize the industry is mind blowing. Ask any real wrestling fan, I could go on for days about how he revolutionized the industry.

Real Wrestling fan here, and a huge HBK mark, lets be real, 1995-1998 HBK almost put the WWE (then WWF) out of business because they werent making money off of him being 'the guy'

What HBK did have was great mic skills, one of the best in ring performers in my generation, however he never was that big of a draw. Michaels will admit it and so will anyone around in the mid 90s, he wasnt a nice guy and was so worried about his 'spot' that he hurt the product more than helping it.

Now HBK circa 2002-2010 was amazing, still great mic skills/in ring performer, but he put people over all the time, and he wasnt the main focus but became a better draw than before, however Hogan is in a class of his own, Hogan was such a draw regardless of how awful he was in the ring, he put butts in seats.

I don't think anyone is aruging that Hogan is a better performer because he isn't. But the greatest superstar of alltime isn't based on just how well you wrestled, because if it was i'd put Kurt Angle #1.

I never said that, look it's just a topic guys...there's no need to all trash me for standing up for the spot of HBK, People gave their reasons why they think Hogan should be #1 so I gave my reasons why he shouldn't

Am I the only one who didnt like Michaels? He used to come out wearing outfits that made Richard Simmons look manly to that "Sexy Boy" song lol Then he couldnt win without help from the higher ups.. Like that Royal Rumble he won .. Brittish Bulldog throws him over the TOP rope and he hangs there for awhile and they play Bulldogs music like he won.. then Michaels messes up and puts his foot on the ground to push himself back in and blind sides Bulldog and knocks him over the rope.. then the announcer says "because only one foot hit the ground he wasnt eliminated" .. in that case couldnt everyone just do the same thing just put 1 leg down and push yourself back in or hop around on 1 leg.. really stupid. Or the famous Montreal screwjob the only other way he gets a big win back then. So as you say in the Attitude era he maybe helped the WWE stay afloat but in the same breath goofy antics like the ones I mentioned above are what made alot of people tune into WCW to start its years of domination in the 1st place.

lol ok i'm not sure if your aware of this but wrestling is FAKE. I can name 50 superstars that have done the same thing that HBK did at the 95 rumble with the 1 foot on the ground, heck look what Morrison did this year, he jumped onto the barricade and back onto the stairs and then into the ring again. Their designed to do that. HBK didn't mess up, that's what he was supposed to do, blatantly show that only 1 of his feet hit the ground. That's why EVERY year before the match they announce the rules (as they did before that one) and say that "both feet" must touch the ground. And as far as the "Montreal Screwjob" went, bret hart didn't want to lose the title in his home country because Michaels was supposed to win the belt that night regardless. Hart said he wanted to win the match and give the belt up the next night on Raw saying he didn't want to work there anymore and Vince said no. It was already pre-determined that Bret Hart was going to WCW because he wasn't the top guy in WWF anymore and h wanted a re-structured contract. Vince didn't want him going out as the champion so he was designed to lose the match. Hart didn't want to lose in his home country and wasn't willing to negotiate, simple as that. Vince pulled the trigger and told the ref (Hebner) to ring the bell, he did what he had to do, sure Michaels knew what was going on backstage about the whole Hart not wanting to give the belt up in Canada situation but that doesn't mean he knew Vince was going to run out and end the match that way. Honestly, this has to be the biggest slap in the face thread to HBK out there. The reason's people are saying they don't like him for are insane, it's all scripted but real things happen behind the scenes that are bound to affect in ring results.

Wrestling is Fake? Yowsers But stand back and look from a Non Michaels worshiper prespective. I didnt say Shawn Michaels was a bad wrestler or non deserving to be on the list I just said I didnt like him. Another cheapy win was when he won his first WWE title in the Iron Man match.. great match but at the end Hart had him in the Sharpshooter which would have gave him the win but time limit ended it was a tie so Brett walks off with his title -match over-.. Then the anouncer comes on and says "since there was no winner its overtime.. a couple minutes later super kick and over. So before you get all huffy puffy thats 3 big career cheap looking wins and even though we know its fake and scripted they were done in a poor manner imo So as a fan who was at an age to understand this quit watching the WWF mainly and started watching WCW and then onto ECW (which was so wonderful it made me quit watching both wcw and wwf completely). So as far as Morrison doing whatever at the last rumble or what anyone else had done in the last rumbles I didnt see it but I had seen every Rumble before the one that Michaels won and nothing like that had happend before which is why it seemed so badly done.
