A couple questions.
i have a few questions.
1. What is the best baseball card to send to have a player sign? Ie topps, ud.
2. Should you try to send to stars or lesser known players?

1. The less glossy the card the better. You should prep cards by rubbing an eraser over the gloss before you mail them as you will get a better auto.
2. Different players have different signing habits. Derek Jeter and the like get too many requests to respond to. The best thing to do is to check the TTM Database to see who is signing by hitting recent successes or by player and look and see how they sign.

ok, thanks. I know that the non glossy score fb are the best. Are 2010 topps good for baseball? Or do you have to rub an eraser across them too?

1- Allen and Ginters, Topps Heritage cards, and most other TOpps base cards are good.
2- Few stars sign. The only reliable stars taht sign are Josh Hamilton, Heath Bell, Clayton Kershaw, CC Sabathia, Kendry Morales was great before he got hurt, and Mariano Rivera is pretty good.

Use whatever cards you like best for graphs, personally, I prefer cards that are lighter so that the autograph pops on the card. The 2009 Allen & Ginter cards look great signed, but I love getting Chrome cards signed too. For anything shiny, sprinkle some baby powder on the card and rub it all around. Then wipe it off.
Check TTMM for players to send to, or check the multisport success thread for players who have been signing recently.

2008 UD First Edition & Update works great. Really cheap. If you want a box I have a bunch.

i rub an eraser on all my cards i send out, just to make sure that i took every step possible to make sure the autograph looks as good as possible when it comes back.
you can get a pack of 3 at any department store or hobby store. I buy mine at wal-mart for $1.20 i think.

I like using the click erasers. Especially good if your doing in person autographs and need to do something on the go.
As far as cards I pick something that is not glossy. All my cards are quite seasoned from sitting in boxes so they touch each other and probably rub off any gloss if there is any.
Also pick a card with a good area to sign in and it stands out somewhat. i.e. nothing with too much on it where the sig would get lost in the picture of the player.
