    Requesting personalized autographs?

Is it in good taste to ask a player to personalize an autograph to you? Also I know I like it when a guy signs the proper # he wore corresponding to the team he was with on a card. Is it in bad taste to mention it? I kind of dislike when a guy will sign the wrong # on a card.

Yeah I always woudl thank them for doing it. I just think it looks better if the # signed matches the team.

Shawn Marion signed a pheonix picture with his pheonix number for me the other night. Pretty cool that he did it without asking.

I think it is good to ask for a personalized autograph. If they're smart, they'll figure out you aren't going to sell it on ebay. A lot of players personalize for that reason.

Ditto, LalersMC is right on. Even a hard to get player will usually sign if you ask them to personalize it...

Also if you ask for a personalization right away I find that players then take the time to sign and you'll get a much neater graph than when players just rush.

This post says it all.. when you ask for personalization it should trigger a response that this item is for a true fan & wont end up on ebay before the ink dries. Great post LakersMC

"I would like to formally ask, based on your personal and coaching schedules, if you would please sign and personalize a photograph for a long time Coach *insertname* and *insertteam* fan. Thank you for your time and consideration during your busy schedule."

Those are two direct lines from all of the emails I send out to coaches. The last one is changed a bit based on the person and profession. I have only received two autos that were not personalized with at least my name, one being Hochuli, but getting an email from him makes up for it.

I agree with what others have said about personalization, it shows that it's for you, not for someone else.
