Event Used?
What does it say on the front of this card? (hint: Game Jersey)

What does it say on the back of the same card?

Doesn't event worn mean more like a practice or photo shoot and not actually worn during a game?
Do you care if the card is game worn vs event worn? This card loses several points with me since it's event used and not game used.
Also, does this mean the other cards in this insert set are all event-used or does it differ based on the player.

yeah, I hate it when it clearly says game worn, and its event worn. All of the current players have game used jerseys in the UD game jersey set. Only the retired players have event worn jesreys.
Cheers,
Andrew

Well technically in this case, I believe it was worn in a game...just not an NHL game. Probably one of those old-timers/heritage games. Rookies are typically the only ones who get photoshoot worn cards.

Rule of thumb - ignore the front of the card. The set is called 'UD Game Jerseys' and has nothing to do with where, or when the jersey was used.
The back is where the 'authenticity' will be - and like you said.... this one is event worn. What is an event? Maybe Dale wore a few different jerseys while he was signing autographs for them, maybe it was one of several from an old timers game. Who knows?
Does it make the card less valuable? For sure it does. Is the attraction of GU cards the fact that you're getting something that looks nice.... or the fact that you're getting a piece of an NHL game worn jersey?

Event used and photo shoot cards are pure garbage. The quality of the memorabilia is extremely significant to a card's appeal.

UD should use more game-used swatches rather than event-used or used in a photo-shoot, if it's possible.

I do not like photo shoot cards or event stuff at all
I'll do a photo shoot rookie jersey card if it's someone I'm after... but yeah, I think that event used could be anything... doesn't even mean he wore it?

funny complaint considering no one can tell the difference between an actual Game Used jersey piece vs Photo Shoot vs Event Used.
and UD does try to keep it Game Used where possible. just look at the majority of today's stars and players currently playing in the middle of their career. more than likely, you'll find the jersey piece was used in an actual nhl game.
for rookies, they have to go photo shoot for releases made earlier in the season. keep in my stuff released at the end of the season is still produced months in advance.
for old timers and retirees, there's only so many jerseys available these days. the jerseys worn during nhl events and photo ops are the only things that can be readily available.Last edited by SkyFire47; 04-01-2011 at 11:01 PM.

Very misleading to be honest.

Maybe UD should wait until the year after to release RC cards of players so they can have actual game used jerseys? Of course they could also not write game used on the card when it clearly is not game used.
