I know Mr. Price is around and it's cool to have him here, but this is an AWFUL AWFUL errors. Probably one of the worst misprint ever... How many people will get screw by this ? Of course avid collectors will be aware but not every collectors will know that.

I wouldn't call this the worst misprint ever. If you include the countless damaged cards that occur in other sets and the intentional misprints like where card companies re-issued sets for profit (see UD French from the 90's) or released more cards than stated (I think this was a topps issue where they said there were only supposed to be xxx copies but they released way more).
Still, this is a very significant error and certainly ranks up there. I would say in the top 10 because of the significance of the '1/1' and the widespread popularity of this set.
REgardless, its still a great set.

Long story short, ITG made a mistake. Here is the thread that Dr. Price started:

Thank you very much clearing this up for me......Now I am really glad I did not buy the Carey Price on E-bay that just sold for $50.....but I just made the mistake of buying a few others that ended last minute :( Guess that is what I get for not doing my homework before I buy...

Definitely a huge error but at least Brian Price comes out and actually tell collectors what happened unlike other companies.

Worst ever, no, but for all the heat UD takes about every little mistake ITG definitely deserves some here regardless of the owner publicly apologizing. This wasn't a few odd ones with a printing error, it was an entire set. Unacceptable, period.

I'm just gonna say one thing,if as they stated they knew of 3 mask cards the silver, the gold and the emerald, and knew none had a print run lower than 10 how could nobody in production have noticed not a single one out of 17,000 cards. To me that just doesn't make sense,in the same way you can make a point for the product stating on the box there were no 1 of 1's in the mask cards, well okay mister quality control guy you didn't notice a single emerald mask card before they got shipped,to me that is hard to fathom.

Well it does pay to be informed which I been preaching in my other post with folks complaining about this like it the end of the world. Remember the redemption might help you recoup some of your loss. Of course we will have to wait and see what Dr. price puts out there for the emerald one of one cards.
You would think prodcution control would catch this too. My concern is when it hit the market how come collector thought they were all 1 of 1's as well. I guess people just don't think when they see dollar signs. A very good point and it is not like the product information sheet was not out there for months to inform collectors as well to the print run of each parallel. I think the blame game should go both ways not just one.
